The Bible (according to the standard three tests given to all historical documents to give a feel for their accuracy [one of which, I might add, is archaeological evidence.]) passed in flying colors. According to those tests, the Bible is a more reliable source of information concerning ancient history than MANY of the texts that are the sole providers of historical information concerning pre-dark-ages history everyone today takes for fact.

In response to your second question:

Over forty authors contributed to the Bible in a time span of thousands of years. What do you mean by the original one?

There are many different ancient copies of the Bible and almost all of them are exactly the same, plus or minus a few spelling errors and poor grammar choices. VERY few, if any, other ancient historical document can claim that. The fact that so many different ancient copies all agree with each other is strong evidence that the messages in the Bible did not change.

Also, the fact that there can be so many different authors over such a long period of time without contradictions is evidence of a divine work. (Yes I know, people say they’ve found contradictions in the Bible. I don’t have the time to explain away all of them right now. But I can truthfully say that I have not yet come upon a contradiction that didn’t have a legitimate rebuttal of some kind.

I’m babbling aren’t I? I’ll stop. Anyway, to sum it up: IMHO, there is evidence for the Bible including, but not limited to, archaeological evidence.

There is more archaeological and manuscript evidence for the Bible than any other book of Scripture. From the Muratorian Fragment to the Rosetta Stone to the Dead Sea Scrolls, not a spade is turned in the Middle East and Asia Minor without uncovering more evidence in support of the Bible, as we have it today.

There are no autographies (original copies) of any of the other ancient religious texts, from Hindu to Islam. There is little or no corroborative evidence to support the authorships of these texts.

And, let's talk about your question...a more fair question would be, "What archeological evidence exists for the authenticity of the Bible?" You are expecting an answer to be in the negative...not right!!!

Maybe there is no original. Perhaps the bible was actually written decades after the alleged crucifixion of jesus occured.
That wouldn't be at all unusual; legends are often passed along by word of mouth, and only written down much later on.

Well it is suppose to be in the Vatican - all protected - because you get scribbling of Constantine and Justine all over it. However, The gospels of Thomas, Mary Mag, Judas, Peter and many others have been found latterly. These were speculated to be written may be 100 years after Jesus death - Probably their sons, Daughters or disciples would have written them since most of Jusus's disciples didn't know to write - Yes they were illiterate.

You should try an archaelogical evidence search for evidence of the Bible, as it has more support most any written documentation that would fall within it age range.

Since you don't know that there was no "original" , I'll guess that you don't know a freakin' thing about evidence, archaeological, or otherwise.
