I was listening to some songs by 2Pac and know I shouldn't judge things if I don't understand what they have been through.

"So much pressure in this life of mine, I cry at times
I once contemplated suicide, and woulda tried
But when I held that 9, all I could see was my momma's eyes
No one knows my struggle, they only see the trouble
Not knowin it's hard to carry on when no one loves you
Picture me inside the misery of poverty
No man alive has ever witnessed struggles I survived
Prayin hard for better days, promise to hold on
Me and my dawgs ain't have a choice but to roll on"

I agree we are not aware of the struggle, we only see the trouble.

That is the wonderful thing about music. I have always listened to music and been very comforted by music when there was no one else around to provide it, and probably grown more spiritually from what I learned through music than through any church or bible. That is the beauty of music...it's universal and understood by all. Maybe if they blasted music through those war-torn streets compassion and sanity would prevail.

I don't judge people by how they look. To a certain extent you can judge the TYPE of life they live, what walk of society they come from, etc. But as to whether they are good people or not, you have to give them a chance.

You must also know that people make mistakes too. It's part of the learning process of life to do so, and that is where we have to learn forgiveness too, but only if one is truly sorry. I've been burned by manipulative people who use your good nature and walk all over you and don't really have any compassion for anyone else. So you have to have a bit of a tough skin to make it through and learn who you can trust and who you cant. That's part of the learning curve of life.

I had severe depression last year although I have fully recovered now. I can honestly say it was a truely horrific experience. Some people I have met since, not all, mind you, judged me by telling me that I should have tried harder to be happy, tried to get myself up and goin even though it is physiclaly impossible!! And like the lyrics say, when I was at my worst and suicidal, and tryin as hard as I could, I felt that no one in the world knew what i was going through.

People shouldnt judge things unless they know what others have been thru.. No they definatley should not.. This is hard I agree, but I can tell this bugs me, as I am quick to defend anyone who ahs this mental illness!!

Such sad lyrics, but they r brilliant ones. Thank you for sharing them!!

Just read some of the mocking crap that is here. Because 2Pac is not a white philosopher that they have been TOLD to respect, they mock him. Some here can not empathise with his message because they are simply, white. They can not understand the pain that brings him to the words that he utters. Surely they should just shut up and maybe learn., but the arrogance of the white race surpasses anything I can phantom. I however am expected to understand, comprehend and respect the works of Kipling, Shakespeare, Chaucer, Hawkins. It makes me sick.

As soon as I read that you listened to 2Pac, I judged you right away, didn't need to read further, I had my mind made up, I knew who you were, knew where your head was, knew your values, knew you were a dumb, irresponsible, unemployed, deadbeat thug, who whined and sniveled bout how you are repressed and held back by the man and how it was so unjust.
The short answer. Yes, I judge others without knowing much about them and so do you.

Your not alone. I sometimes feel like I have a mask on too, but God said that here on this earth that trouble will come. And to Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. When we feel darkness begin to close in on us we nee to turn to Jesus, the light. He will be a refuge and will give us strength to keep going. Lord give this person strength to trust You when life's burdens seem too much to bear; dispel the darkness with new hope and help him rise above despair. I pray In Jesus name. You won't stumble in the dark if you walk in the light of God's word. Remember I said don't loose faint or go wear keep on keepen on living by faith. This too shall pass.

Just because someone is struggling doesn't mean they can do wrong. Living in poverty doesn't give one the right to rob a 7-11 or a gas station.

Actions can be judged, not people. Most actions can be qualified as right or wrong. To judge the person committing those actions, as in saying the are evil/good people going to hell/heaven, is wrong. That we do not know.

We always judge a person before we really get to know them, it's a bad habit of human beings.

You can discern a person, just by talking to them or about 30 minutes or so.
If you can not that is so sad.

discernment is not judgment, it only tells you if you should be around the person or not.

I think we are all guilty of judging before we know. We shouldn't be like this but maybe it is not all a bad thing sometimes our judgments are not always wrong.
