Oh dear dear dear...I'm damned in this question no matter what. I love animals a great deal. I grew up on a family farm, we killed and ate our own. I honour the life they had and will have again and thank them for adding to mine. I protest against Factory Farms and Hunting for Sport (and not meat). I believe animals should be treated with kindness and compassion; that if we're going to kill them to kill them quickly, cleanly and as painless as possible. I also think I need meat. I know that I've had many lives as many animals. Undoubtedly I've been killed and eaten....but we could all go to Soylent Green (late 60's movie with Charleton Heston and Edward G Robinson) and eat the remains of people. We're dead anyways. Might as well make use of the flesh and bones. See what I meant? Damned if I do and damned if I don't.

Humans have teeth of omnivores, some flat and some pointed. A meatless diet can be unhealthy for a species that is supposed to eat meat. The food chain exists for a reason. Even we get to be food for at least things like mosquitoes...so we all help each other thrive.

Animals were given to us for food and as beasts of burden. I personally don't see anything wrong with eating any animals (although there are a few I probably wouldn't try). I am against any cruelty to animals though. Everything should be as humane as possible.

1. Animals can be neither guilty nor innocent. They just are.
2. God gave dominion to man over the animals.
3. A good steak is delicious.

A long time ago and far away man and cow made a deal. Man agreed to take care of cow. Feed cow all she wanted to eat all her life. Provide shelter and see she always has water. Cow would live a life ease, never having to work. In return cow would give her self so that man could live. This was a great deal, for cow could not grow fields of grass or harvest hay for the winter. Cow would die with out hay for the winter.
If we didn’t eat cows, no one would take care of them and their would be NO cows. So my question to you is why do you want to take away cows life of ease and condemn her to NO life at all?

I'm not religious, but since an enormous number of other living things kill for food, why can't we?

I would hate to live without ribs man! I couldn't do it. I would much rather eat than feel sorry for animals. By the way, did you ever think of how the vegatables would feel.

God allowed us to eat meat after the flood. Genesis 9:3 If He did not want us to eat meat, He would have told us not to. Personally, I love a good steak.
