Any animal which is unusually small, as compared with others of its kind; -- applied particularly to domestic animals.

that is the definition. there really is probably no way of telling untill you got it aroung some very very similar puppies of the same breed and same age. The runt is usually the weakest of the litter. (I always find the cutest). but since there is no litter then if the puppy for some reason was a little weaklin then yeah mabye it can be considered a runt when it was a puppy.

congrats on the puppy

absolutely not.. that is.. the two words are NOT the same. If she was a normal size and a single, she would not be a runt would she?

lol.........why so serious everyone? that's HILARIOUS and i've never thought of that! she'd be the runt, so you could call her tiny, or she'd be the fastest, so you could call her speedy, or you could call her Liberaci, cuz she'd be the pianist! (peeing-ist) i figured you'd get it, that's just for those who don't! anyway, great question! and if you actually have a litter good luck with them!

No. Usually if there is only one pup in a litter it will be bigger than a normal pup for the breed.
