Yes, it's wrong to lie, lies almost always backfire on you...think of how much worse it will be trying to explain your way out of a lie to your brother, sister, or best friend. Don't worry about getting them mad, they will be much more mad if you lie.

My grandmother, God bless her soul, imparted to me this nugget of wisdom: never lie unless your life depends on it. That way, you'll be believed.

Isn't the person who you consider your best friend capable of handling honesty? That's one of those things you do with best friends, you know. Brothers and sisters, maybe not so much because you can never tell with them really, but a best firend is chosen and should at least be someone you can confide in.

I'm just saying.

Its not a lie if u have told it becoz it might hurt that person or make them mad.that doesnt mean that whole of your friendship shud be full of lies. u shud chose to tell lies only if it hurts the other person .Not becoz it makes u feel good about yourself in other person 's eyes but the lie is far fetched that u are nowhere near to it.
choose to lie only for the other person;s happiness not to elevate your status in other person;s eyes .becoz when they come to know about it they will be more hurt with the lie and about u and your friendship to them.there will be too much at stake at that point.

If a person is your best friend, then they will not judge you because you may have made mistakes in the past. Nobody is perfect, and your friend should know this. If they condemn you for something in your past, then they aren't much of a friend. Friends uphold and support each other...no matter what!

I would not recommend lying to your friend, because that is a betrayal of trust. Once trust is lost it can be very hard to regain it.

If it is something that would hurt them, then it is not okay to unburden yourself at their expense. In that case, it would be best to just keep it to yourself.

i think everyone is entitled to their own privacy, even from best friends. it really depends on the issue at stake. i wouldn't just sit there and elaborate a lie to hide the truth, it is just better to keep your mouth shut and keep anything on that subject to yourself. you can offer the truth, when you feel is the right time, but the longer you wait, the harder it is for forgive, especially if the lie involves the person you are lying to.

THE ONLY THING THAT IS WRONG IS THAT YOU LIE TO PLEASE OTHER PEOPLE OUT OF FEAR. WE USED TO GET BEAT FOR LYING, BUT WE GOT BEAT IF WE TOLD THE TRUTH TOO. I STILL DO IT OUT OF HABIT. YOU CAN ALWAYS SAY I DON'T WANT TO HURT YOUR FEELING SO I AM NOT GOING TO ANSWER THAT. WE AS INVIDUALS WILL HAVE THINGS GOING ON IN OUR LIVES THAT WE FEEL WE HAVE TO LIE ABOUT TO BE ACCEPTED BY OTHERS.

DON'T FALL FOR THE OLE, TELL ME I WON'T BE MAD AT YOU THING! IF IT SOMETHING THAT WOULD MAKE YOU MAD OR IF IT IS HURTFUL, THEN IT WILL MAKE THEM ANGRY EVEN THOUGH THEY PROMISED THEY WOULDN'T GET MAD. STAY NEUTRAL

depends on the situation..and the type of lie it is.
Is it gonna save them from harm or possibly harm them...
its always in the best intrest to tell the truth regardless if the truth hurts....

Yes, it is wrong.Lies definitely hurt worse if and when they find out. But if they really care about you then they can forgive you, or even help you out. To spare yourself from this dilemma again, ask yourself before you do it "what would the people who care about me and i care most about think of me doing this?"

Lies hurt worse than the truth. If you do lie, they are gonna find out eventually. Just tell her.
