I think you failed to drive inside the marked lane - between the white lines. Maybe you were weaving between lanes or on the shoulder.

Did you get this ticket in Louisana on I-10 between the state lne and Lake Charles? I saw on 60 Minutes one time about how crooked the State Police were in this state. They would confiscate cars cause they only drove 55 mph and stay in their own lane. They took this women's Lincoln Continintal and said she had a hidden compartment under the frame . This was a late model "90's car The the compartment was a frame brace put on at the factory between the frame rails. They got her for unauthorized use of a lane because at 55 mph she was going slower than other cars( 55 mph was the speed limit for trucks) and "unauthorized use of a lane cause she didn't change lanes at this speed.

I am sure you must mean lane. Were you driving on the shoulder? Sounds a little like a cop was ticket happy but if you were not in a marked lane I guess they got you.

'Lane' not 'land'

It means you didn't keep the vehicle between the white lines on the road. Depending on what mood the cop is in, this could be as petty as having one tire over the line for a moment. It could also mean driving across someone's lawn.
