An eye is an organ that detects light. Different kinds of light-sensitive organs are found in a variety of creatures. The simplest eyes do nothing but detect whether the surroundings are light or dark. More complex eyes are used to provide the sense of vision.

This is not something you should mess around with. Visit your optician/optometrist asap and have it checked out. Consider switching to another product range or product.
On a cosmetic note with a basis in minor treatment:
Buy a bottle of PURE rosewater, such as Crabtree & Everlyn produce. (Make sure the bottle with the stuff in it is 1. Blue or brown and 2. Glass - indicates quality of rosewater). Keep in the refigerator. When you have a flare-up soak a cotton wool pad with the rosewater and apply gently to the eye area. Use a freshpad for each eye. You can also pop on the pads and have a lie-down and let this calm you down when feeling so wretched.
DO NOT PUT ROSEWATER INTO YOUR EYE!!!!
The cold will sooth the inflamed tissue and can be done repeatedly. The cold will help constrict the veins causing the redness. The Rose - ah well thats the secret ingredient. Also the reason an expensive product is recommended - rose is a highly antiseptic essence and works wonders repairing the skin etc. It will gently reduce the inflamation you are subject to and in the case of developing a stye, will reduce the scale of the infection and speed the healing there of.
Feel better soon!
