a friend of mine married for the second time - they attend a wonderful church....but there's a problem now --- his ex started going there too! I suggested to her to wait and see if the ex is serious about going there ...well it's 4 months later and the ex wife is still attending the same church and the people there are taking sides .... my friend has mentioned this situation to the pastor but he's staying out of it ... I think they should go somewhere else and have said as much ....
She would come to the church I attend but it's too far away.

The circumstance has absolutely nothing to do with church but with the players and if there will be "forgiveness" from both divorcees, this is the best forum for that. Divorce do happen because someone was selfish and seeing each other will judge them to repentance and forgiveness. I suggest they stay put and let the Spirit do His job if they keep a humble heart and I suspect that's what the pastor's position was. Church welcomes all irrespective of who or what.

She needs to attend another church. It's very sad that the people there are "taking sides." Our churches have become so full of gossip and back-biting, it's disgusting. That's not a church I would want to go to anyway. I think she could serve God much better in a place without people like that, and without her husband's ex there. Good luck to them!

Keep these 2 things in mind:

1. What's to keep the ex from changing Church's too? There is no perfect church because there are no perfect people. (this could happen anywhere)

2. Is the Spirit of God in this church and is it Bible based? (If not definitely switch)

I think your friend should find a new church. They don't need to bring confusion inside the church. The ex-wife should have not stayed.

That's a stupid question. But feel free to join me at my church, the 2nd Newly Reformed Fundamental Baptist Amazing Grace Church of the Nazarene God on Elm Street.

if your friend is uncomfortable at the church she is going to it would be a good idea to go to another one, she needs to be careful about what she says in another church some people like gossip and loose lips sink ships I'm not saying that your friend is a gossiper. if you want to talk more email me.
