When I purchased my fitness package from my gym, the trainer was horrible, he hurt me in an initial workout, bolted for a manager the minute I said I don't know about buying their package, and never informed me he wouldn't be the one training me. I see him processing other people through like cattle, I'm not sure he ever spoke with my current trainer (who is top notch btw)...I recently recieved a survey on my experience and while I talk about this guy being rude and distant I am known by name to him, his boss, and of course my trainer. SInce i'm so heavy I feel like i'm being a baby if I complain about his sales pitch, but it was half ***. Is filling out the survey an abnoxious idea.

Most personal trainers do more harm than good. I have seen some making 70 yr olds do squats on the smith machine. It is extremely harmful to the knees!. Also they have no idea how to tailor different workouts for people with different bodies and different goals. Every one has a routine that thye use on every single client.

That is why I stay clear from Personal Trainers.

I think I would fill up the survey and give my honest opinion, but I don't think in big fitness club chains like Bally's anything would change.

I am seeing more and more of these types of deals. I imagine that the gym makes a ton of money from personal trainer charges and I suspect that the personal trainers they have on staff rely upon new business to keep themselves employed.

I've never used a personal trainer because I prefer to self-educate myself. Sure, I suppose a PT could help me in fine tuning my workouts, but there isn't much I haven't heard before.

Men's Fitness and Men's Health did some stories recently about horror stories and yours isn't too uncommon.

Just be sure they have been certified and they treat you as individual, not some case that they've seen before. They are sort of like doctors, so make sure you sign on with one that works for you.

I would fill out the survey and let his boss know what an *** he is. My 22 year old daughter is also a personal fitness trainer and has no problem getting people to sign but she is also the one who will continue to train you. I would let them know that I don't appreciate being treated like cattle. A real professional trainer like my daughter would never treat a client that way. If she did I would still spank her butt!! Fill out the survey.

no it's not. he can either sell potential clients or send them away, depending upon his tactics. he sounds like he is a liability to this company, and they should know about it. your being heavy has nothing to do with this man's accountability as a salesman. it does seem to have to do with your confidence in filling out the survey. come on, didn't you go there because you are heavy and want help? he may turn others away who are seeking help, and you need to be responsive, so if they run into him, they don't get discouraged and go back home, feeling they have no one to help, no one who sees them as valid.

No, you'd be doing them a favor by letting them know that he's lame and treated you unfairly. Good luck!

no, if you're unsatisfied with something let them know..maybe with bad survey's he'll improve..but initial workouts are going to be painful..like they say "no pain no gain"
