If God created Adam, Eve, and everything in the garden then did he create the serpent, aka the Devil? He had to since he created everything. So if God created the Devil, boy are we going to laugh big time when we find out at the end, aren't we? Atheists don't have to explain this question, we already know the answer but the Christians I feel will have a problem answering this question.
Please don't quote the bible to answer the question. I have already read it and it sounds to me like the serpent was already in the garden ready to jump on poor Eve the moment he got the chance. So if the serpent was already there then God created it along with the rest of the things in the garden.

To the Christians; Yes I have read the bible, probably more than some of you.
I know it was a fallen angel according to the bible. If God created everything and he knows what is going to happen, free will or no free will, then he could have easily taken Satan out of the picture all togther.
To the Atheists: The Christians just don't get it, there was no garden, there was no Adam and Eve and a blissful life until she did the no no. These are stories, told to people years before the bible was ever thought of.

OK just to get things straight you're asking Christians this and since our faith is based on the Bible then DUH we're going to use the Bible. Its like trying to have a math teacher teach you how to do a math problem without the use of math symbols; it doesnt work and its stupid.
God created Lucifer, the most beautiful angel who got stuck up and thought himself better than God, thus finding himself and his buddies cast into Hell, their job to deceive the world. So I guess you could say God created minds and egos and right and wrong. So what difference does this make? Is the answer to this question going to convert you? What's your point?

Of course he did. What is funny is that you assume that the serpent was the Devil, it doesn't say that any where in the Bible. If God really didn't want Adam and Eve to eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge then he would not have put it in the Garden in the first place. I think that when God saw that Adam and Eve would not eat the apple with out some encouragement he changed him self in to the serpent and enticed them to eat the apple. Come on it's as plain as day. The minds of Adam and Eve where like the minds of children. What child wouldn't listen to a talking snake, it's like a freaking Disney movie. Satan is probably on God's pay roll, even the state prison has a warden.

First of all, the only knowledge of the event is revealed. The word create is used three times. Since you don't want quotes, I assume you know where they are.
Did God create evil? I assume you can quote that verse as well.
What about the word "Devil", "Satan", "Demon"? Ibid.
To get to your answer, you will need to do a lot of word study searches. To help you out, I suggest an online search engine, for example the tool found in www.biblegateway.com. Then I suggest an interlinear translation such as www.scripture4all.org
Did God create evil? Or did God's creations create evil? Does the bible reveal this?
To answer your serpent question: The serpent was in the Garden, at the time the Garden was formed or certainly at the time that Eve talked to it. The duration doesn't matter.

In the beginning Lucifer waswas an angel of God ( Is 14: 12-14, Ezek 28: 11-17, Ephes 2: 2)
His fall - Ezek 28: 17, Proverbs 16: 18, 18: 12, 1 Timothy 3: 6, Is 14: 13- 14, John 8: 44,
God thrashed him down because Luc was proudy that's when God sent fire on earth destroying all the dinosaurs but as we all know snakes are master survivors and survived this holocaust( scientifically proved) and enterd into God's new creation.
Never challenge a christian astronomer? and I guess you only read the first book, too bad you got deceived by the ancient deceiver.

Christians have no problem answering this question. Satan was not always Satan. Satan was Lucifer. Lucifer was the most beautiful angel God created. He was basically an instrument---he spoke in song. He was so beautiful and powerful, he began to think he could be greater than God. So, he bascially caused an uprising. He was cast out and took 1/3 of the angels with him. Hell was created to contain Satan and the fallen angels (demons). Obviously, he was no match for God. So the division was made. God did not "create" evil, however. Lucifer had free will. Lucifer embodies all that is evil by choice and force of his own will. I thought everyone knew this.

Yep your right. Satan is a created being. He was the angel of light. Lucifer . Filled with pride and tried to put himself above God. So God threw him out of heaven and a third of the angels went with him, in this war.
So in answer to your question, yes he was created. Yes he was in the garden, not put there by God as a creation in the garden.
I don't understand though, why you don't want scripture, since that is what you are asking about. Apparently you haven't read enough of it or you would understand the easy questions that you ask.

A christian would say god created creatures with free will, for whatever reason, and that they themselvse chose to do evil with their own resources. As far as god creating the devil, it'd once again be the free will factor taking over. They'd say he created lucifer but lucifer created evil himself due to whatever he was thinking with his free will. I think they'd say it wasn't that he created evil itself, it's just the corruption took over the minds of those with free will and low self discipline or wisdom. That's simply what a christian would say. Here is my take on the matter. Everyone has their own set of eyes, their own mind, and their own experiences; Thusforth, everyone has their own perspective on life. Christians can say everything about the bible and they can justify everything in the bible through there means. The true question would be: What is wrong with that? Is there something insecure about oneself where they cannot let another exist until they believe as you do? whether it be atheist or otherwise. And If that's true, then wouldn't you be doing the same thing as christians themselves with evangelism? If you believe something about the bible or those specific religions that is different than others that's fine. Everyone has their own take on life and the world, and more especially their own translations and contexting for the situations at hand. If it rained hard and a rainbow popped up, you would say look a rainbow, and a frenchmen would say regarde un arc-de-ciel. Who would be wrong? You for calling it a rainbow or him for calling it an arc-de-ciel? I know you realize it's the same thing here. It's all a matter of perspective. Have a great day.

I don't have a problem answering this question, it's fairly simple.
God did create Lucifer, he was an angel. this angel had freewill, some do, some don't.. but this angel had something the others didn't, he had pride. this pride lead him to believe that he was equal or above God. pride created evil. not God. Lucifer was a fallen angel, that later saw his demise and wanted others to follow because he wanted God's creation to fail, he enticed Eve, with the same thing that brought him down "knowledge". he knew that once he planted the seed of deception in Eve's head, humankind would no longer be what God intended it to be. he told her that if she ate of the tree she would be "just like God".. remember, he thought he was just like God before his fall.. sound alike?
it worked! but there was one thing he didn't take into account, that God could redeem those he created by sending the ultimate sacrifice.. his own Son.

Yes God created the devil... Satan WAS a high angel before he went against God. But God didn't creat evil in the sense that He created other things. He didn't say "Let there be evil, and it was.. and it was good err bad" But God is GOOD God is Holy... He removes Himself and evil comes. Like when you take away light, darkness comes.

God created the angel Lucifer who rebelled against God. He was able to rebel because God granted all of His cognizant creations free will. That rebellion was the first sinful act. When Adam and Eve chose to do what God had forbidden them to do they brought that evil upon humans. God did not create evil. Satan and humans created it and perpetuate it.
