NOW can I lighten my hair?

Question

A week ago (Tuesday, Aug 1) it was accidentally made black. While I know it's way too soon to go totally blonde again, is it possible, if I go to a professional,that it could be at least made brown without damaging it too much? With this short black hair I look like a freak! Brown would be so much better.

I am a hairdresser and I hate to tell you this but you will need to go to a professional hairdresser to correct the problem and you will most likely have some damage or dryness done to your hair. Most likely what they will do is try to lighten it up with a bleach,shampoo and a low volume peroxide mixture first. If that does not work then it will have to be stripped to at least a reddish orange color and then to a nice medium brown. You are right, getting it back to blonde may take time or you can put in some highlights but I wouldn't advise getting the highlights right away. Make sure you get a good moisturizing/conditioning treatment afterwards. This process could cost anywhere from $80 to $150 (not including the tip). Good Luck.

It depends on how you dyed your hair (what type of product you used), but yes, you can probably do something about it if you go to a professional. Don't try it on your own though (trust me on that... dyed my hair black for a theatre gig, thought it would fade, it didn't, I tried to dye it back, and it looked awful)!

Best bet would be to call the professionals and ask them what they think. More then likely they can help you decide what to do, and when.

Probablly needs to be stripped. Call and ask a good hair dresser.

if you are an original blonde it would not be as bad...ask ur hairstylist what she thinks!!!
