Take lysine - it's an amino acid, and you have to take a lot - 7-8 pills during the day. Also, put abreva on it.

You can take L-Lysine. It is available over the counter at most pharmacies. My husband is taking it for a cold sore right now. If you don't catch the cold sore at first tingle, it will take longer to get rid of, but with the L- Lysine the cold sore won't be nearly as severe. My husband takes one 1000 mg. tablet per day.

Hope this helps.

i dont think there really is a quick fix for this problem as i have had them in the past & they didnt go away real quick, but i did find some relief by useing petroleum jelly on it to make & keep it moist. use it daily & often as there are some healing properties in it.good luck & hang in there!
