No. Because what Jesus taught and preached was God's Torah and a proper understanding of it as opposed to the teachings of the Pharisees.
What Jesus was talking about in this verse was that the people had a choice - listen and obey what the Pharisees taught or do what is right in God's sight, living by Torah. And so there were only two parties - either the Pharisees' way or his way. Since Jesus was preaching God's Torah, then his way was the only way, the truth and the life that is pleasing to God. Not the Pharisees's way.

"Maybe John said that , but I am sure Jesus never did. He was a religious Jew. "
That is an excellent point. If you follow what Jesus said, you should NOT worship him, but worship GOD and follow his commandments. Jesus said very specifically that there is no one who is good except for GOD. He wasn't talking about himself either. His Apostles, who were admonished on more than one occasion by Jesus for acting like morons, are the ones who started this idolatrous belief that worshipping a man would get one into Heaven and that a body didn't even have to earn it.

Yes he is. So is the Buddha and anyone else who gets enlightened and becomes a symbol for the One Way -- a Way that is reflected by different teachers and paths but, in the end, it's all the same experience. Contradiction when seen dualistically, not a contradiction when seen from enlightenment. Those who get enlightened become the Way -- become the symbol to the rest of us.

I have to say that I've been reading the Left Behind series and those books have been so helpful in my understanding of the Bible. To answer your question, I would say "yes" Jesus Christ is the only way to God because He died for our sins and we must gain salvation from Him in order to be accepted into Heaven. Hope that helps.

Yes. When Jesus died on the cross for our sins he went to Hell and set the captives free; those that were destined for Heaven went to Heaven those destined for Hell went to Hell. Now those that die await His return (The Rapture). I don't know the exact verse, but I remember how surprised I was to hear that Jesus went to Hell; that's because he was a Man. He had to go through EVERYTHING that we would go through...
In the Book of John - GOD manifested himself in the flesh (Jesus) and walked among man. Jesus was GOD and MAN.
Anyway - YOU have to believe and have your own experience with Jesus/God to understand.
Thank you for your question. It reminded me of who He is.
God Bless You!

It's the only way to stand before God, and be righteous. God cannot look upon sin. So if you aren't covered in the blood of the lamb, God will only see your sin life.

Saint Peter at the Golden Gate ~
A man dies and goes to heaven. Of course, St. Peter meets him at the pearly gates. St. Peter says, "Here's how it works. You need 100 points to make it into heaven. You tell me all the good things you've done, and I give you a certain number of points for each item, depending on how good it was. When you reach 100 points, you get in."
"Okay," the man says, "I was married to the same woman for 50 years and never cheated on her, even in my heart."
"That's wonderful," says St. Peter, "that's worth three points!" "Three points?" he says. "Well, I attended church all my life and supported its
ministry with my tithe and service." "Terrific!" says St. Peter, "that's certainly worth a point." "One point? Golly. How about this: I started a soup kitchen in my city and worked in a shelter for homeless veterans."
"Fantastic, that's good for two more points," he says. "TWO POINTS!" the man cries, "At this rate, the only way I get into heaven is by the grace of God!" "That's right! Now you've got it!" said St. Peter.
For it is by Grace you have been saved, through Faith -- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -- not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephesians 2:8-9) HIS Grace!
