I am so tired of hearing how more and more illegals are pouring into the U.S. and none of the border control techniques are working, and even if they are caught they bribe the border security guy. I believe that if we were allowed to take up arms and go patroll our own border. it would make an example on how serious we are on protecting our country from illegals. I believe a shoot to kill technique would be useful if we used it for about 4 to 5 months to show the illegals that we will not tolerate their abuse for our law anymore. what are your thoughts? and if you dont agree, what do you think we should do? and why?

The only problem with that is as Americans we are supposed to hold ourselves to a higher moral standard. However, if the problem persists, then yes, I say we declare Marshall law, and sent the National Guard in to do just that. That is what they are trained to do.

You would only inflame the situation more and then there would be wanton murders (both ways...whites killing whites and illegals) and there would be no way to get a handle on it without escalating to National Guard and perhaps even armed conflict between the locals and the guards under orders to stop the problem. While most Mexicans have no firearms, so it seems easy but you overlooked the drug smuggling...after all Mexico supplies about 90% of the illegal drugs that cross the border and with the hundreds of millions of drug profits, you might find 'wetbacks' toting more than a sack of beans. Escalating of violence breeds further violence...and likely you are being influenced by rhetoric and the media...but better think carefully before dusting off the old .44

So, basically, you want to make illegally entering the US on foot from Mexico a death penalty offense. People who come on planes with tourist visas and overstay their welcome, they get arrested, held, and shipped back to their country but people too poor to afford plane tickets get murdered in the desert.
What if, say, Juan is crossing the border to come to America but his brother Pedro is chasing after him to try to get him to change his mind? Do we shoot Pedro without even asking why he's out there? What if Juan is crossing the border because Pedro is chasing him with a gun after Pedro found Juan in bed with his wife? Do we really just kill Juan?
And what of the 98% of border crossers who evade detection? Should the choice really be a 98% chance of success and a 2% chance of death?
And what about the damage that killing a human being will do to your soul? Ask anyone who ever saw combat: killing another person, even the enemy, stays with you for life.
Here's what I think of your plan: It's immoral, it's illegal, it's stupid and it's racist.

You are way off base. Yes, we have a lot of illegals, however how would what would effectively be murder help control that? Four to five months or for the rest of your life so you aren't tired of hearing about it anymore? What makes you think their lives aren't worth as much as yours or mine? I certainly hope your idea NEVER takes off. Shoot to kill should be used in imminent danger situations only!

Your way of thinking is too hard on unarmed people. As a Marine, I face decisions in battle. I will not "shoot to kill" unless I follow the proper rules of engagement. To shoot unarmed human beings like they are prize animals is only for Hollywood.
Grow up. Quit watching violent television, I see it does you harm.

No thanks, there are better ways of dealing with the situation ... do you want to start a blood bath? By and large, the people coming in here are unarmed ... and illegal or not, you can't just start shooting them dead .... I'm about as anti illegal as they come, but there are limits ...
