I remember those things and we called them dynamos. I thought it probably has gone Jurassic like the typewriter but I have extra time and this is interesting to me too so I did a search.

I learned that they now make hub dynamos. The dynamo is built-in to the hub of the wheel! Who would've thunk? ;)) And "The drag was, for all practical purposes, unnoticeable." * *http://www.blayleys.com/articles/lights/page2.htm)

This link comes up a lot: http://www.peterwhitecycles.com/ and I think he still has the tire driven version which he calls Dymotec.

Great for the environment conscious.

I remember those d--n things. You put it against the tire and it slows your cruising speed down about half. Just get a rechargeable
battery light.

don't get one... they add unnecessary weight and add more friction/rolling resistance to your wheel..

just get a rechargeable headlight system.. Vista Lite, etc. make a lot to choose from.

Why do you want one? I imagine you will have to design your own at this point in the game.

Or search yard sales, estate sales, thrift shops.
