Tell her that she can only see God in an earthly way right now. She sees God every time she sees kindness, goodness and love. She sees God when she looks at nature, the flowers, trees, snow, ocean, animals and everything else he created. God is a wonder she can't really grasp fully, but yes, she can see him.

I might say that we are too small to see God. We are like ants looking up at a huge person. All we see is a thumb or a piece of shirt. We can't put it toegether as anything because we don't know what we are looking for. Sort of like when you do a puzzle without a guide. i don't know if this will help but I am very proud of you for teaching your daughter about God.

You should tell the truth, that there is no such thing. (And if you doubt that, then you would not have to ask this question). If you think 5 is too young, reveal the facts at the same time you finally admit Santa Claus doesn't exist. Same story, after all, what with the rewards for good behavior and all.

Yeah I have been asked that by my little sis. It sorta catches you off guard. I just asked her if she could see the wind..or the fact that she knows that I am still in the house with her if I am in another room of the house where she can't see me. And We always told her he was with Pa, our grandfather who passed away. I think she understood the fact that heaven existed but not knowing all the facts. So she knew God was in heaven and with Pa, and Bingo ( her puppy ).

Tell her the truth, God does not exist.

If she wants to be a religious nuthead in later life thats her choice, better than having these lies forced upon her by you at such a young age.

I put my hand behind my back and say....can you see my hand? The answer will be no.
There are mountains and seas and countries we all know exist but we can't see them...but we can imagine them. If man was made in God's image....let her imagine God and know He is.

aww thats cute. tell her that he is everywhere and that he is everything that she sees. and why cant we see god is a good question...i never thought to ask that myself...but tell her because he lives in her heart...thats the simplest way i can think to explain it. because i doubt a 5 yr old would understand the difference btwn physical and spiritual....good luck.

Wow, sounds like your kid is smarter than you. She knows BS when she hears it. Why don't you ask her questions about god and she'll point out all the loop holes to you.
