I've found myself out of the dating scene for 4 years. Now ready I never meet people except here (online) I've met a few guys (online) intrested but I'm afraid to meet them in person. Should I tell them of my hesistance or ignore my fear and meet them?

i totally understand being afraid to meet them! i am the same way myself...after talking for awhile and being cautious and sure that they are telling you the truth, if they want to meet, be up front...tell them youre nervous about meeting online. They should be able to understand this. suggest meeting at the mall where there are a lot of ppl around. my most recent guy i arranged to meet at starbucks. driving there was one of the worst times i've gone through..i was so nervous and scared and i wanted to puke! but once i got there and met him, i calmed down and he was super cool. just be careful, because guys can be whoever they want online! i hope you have found some genuine ones who will treat you right. good luck. :)

I'm going to be real with you in this day and age you have to be careful, because you can not believe everything they tell you, that is why you should really think is risking your life worth meeting someone you do not know! But if you are really into somebody, you should take a group of friends with you when you meet then,and have them at the side line, or whoever is willing to come. Make sure it is a very public place, and have protection with you (mace). Their are other options to meeting people, and basically whatever you do be SAFE!

Meet them, but tell them you want to be friends at first and go from there. Bring a friend with if you're afraid to meet them alone.

don't ignore fears , make sure when you do meat them your not alone and he has to meet you in a public place and you have your own way home , be safe and injoy

ack careful..... people online are not always what they seem. i knew a girl who met a guy who seemed so nice online, but when he met her, he raped her. not trying to scare you, but there are some freaks out there!
