when i was growing up, i had my parents, then 10 years later, my brother. My aunts and uncles were always states and countries away so I never really knew them as.... well... family i guess. I knew they were part of my family but they never felt like it with the exception of a few. My dogs have been there when I was upset, when I was sad, and when I just needed to get away. I saw them grow and develop into what they were and what they are. I too, will say I choose my dogs over some of my family members because honestly, I see my dogs as my family. You know how some families have people of different religions and ethnic background or foreign backgrounds? well, my dogs are my family from different species and different backgrounds but they are my family. DOn't feel bad... but.... don't feel too good though. Not everyone gets along with everyone but.... your dogs will always love you.

I Love All Our Little Friends, for so many reasons, and yes, better than some humans. They Love You Back Completely, No Cheating, Lying, Drinking, Gambling, Disloyalty, etc.
Please Enjoy The Following Poem.
CREATION:
God had made the earth and sky,
the flowers and the trees,
He then made all the animals,
the fish, the birds and bees.
And when at last He'd finished -
He said, I'll walk this world of mine,
and give each one it's special name.
And so He traveled far and wide
and everywhere He went,
a little creature followed Him
until its strength was spent.
When all were named upon the earth
and in the Sky and Sea,
the little creature said, "Dear Lord,
there's no name left for me."
Kindly, the Father said to him,
I've left you to the end.
I've turned my own name, back to front
And titled you "DOG, My Everlasting Friend".

I love my pets very very much. They are pampered and spoiled. I like them better than some of my family but love family more. People are more precious to me than animals and family especially. I do love animals though. I have 3 dogs 3 cats and 2 fish. If I get anymore my husband may move out lol.

understood, your pets are loving and always there for you while sometimes family mambers can be a little wacky and more stressful than pleasent to be around. I've been down that road and I think it's justified. A pet is closer to you then extended family that you don't see to speak to everyday.

Oh definitely more than cousins, aunts, uncles, etc as we have never been real close. They are scattered around the US and I haven't seen them in many years. My husband says I love the dogs better than him......lol

It depends on the moment and what the mood is like when i'm around the family. I'm a real animal lover but my family has & will always come first.
