It is actually considered released already. The advertising campaign is heavily started for August which means you should be seeing them on the streets around September to October (Since its an '07)
It varies fealer to dealer though, if you want one soon you better get to a dealer to make sure there isn't a waiting list though!
This Jeep is generating A LOT of hype, especially with these ads.

I saw the Compass at the Detroit auto show and auto-week on PBS drove one last week. I think the first Jeep to be based on a car chassis should be out now as a 2007. Remember It is really a dodge neon/ pt cruiser underneath with all wheel drive. Expect to pay around $20,000

Since it is advertised as a 2007 model, it should be out in the sept - oct time frame

It is already out, there is one at my local dodge dealer.
