My cat's name is Ploochie. She is a very evil kitten and when we first got her, she would spit at me & my family & dog. A family friend knows Polish and one of his favorite sayings is "Ploochie wapash" (I actually don't know how to spell it, but that's how it's pronounced) which means "Spit and catch it". You say that if someone is asking you what you are doing, and it means you are basically doing nothing... Anyways, since my cat would always spit, we named her Ploochie. Does your cat's name have a special meaning??? Just curious...

I have 5 well sort of 6 so here it goes...

shady, solid gray male, he's shady because he's gray like the shade or shadows
jabber, calico female....she talks. alot...and i mean alot.
sockie, female gray/white tabby....her feet are white like socks.
lucyfur, female van calico, she is all white except for her tail which is tan and gray, one gray spot on her hip, and 2 gray spots on her head like horns...and since she's female it's lucyfur, instead of lucifer...that and she's kinda mean sometimes.
salem, black male...because salem, mass. is famous for witch trials, and witches are famous for having black cats...so that's why he's salem
and, last but not least,
miss kitty, long haired brown tabby (maybe maine coon but she was stray so i'm not sure), since she found us, she walks around my house like she owns it...thus miss kitty is her name.

(sockie also has a 7 week old baby...i call him keekee which is just baby talk for kitty kitty....i haven't had anything else come to me yet so for now...it's just keekee. lol)

My brother's cat was named Matchka which is Russian for 'little mother'. He was a graduate of the Russian Institute at Columbia University.

I named a kitten Mincho which I thought was a Spanish diminutive for Benjamin. (I was always going to call him Ben when he grew up) Course, though he's twelve now he is still Mincho.

I later found out the mincho is just a name for any old cat in South America.

One of my cat's named is Sylvie. That's French and I liked it.

Then there is Cameo. She is an old tortoiseshell with a lovely white bib. So elegant and pretty. So perfect for her highness.

My orange tabby is named Kinsey, a family name as we have a lot of redheads and blondes.

Amber was named for her amber eyes.

Spookie was easily spooked as a kitten. He would freeze and his eyes would get enormous.

My oldest cat is named Eddie and we named him after Sir Edmond Hilary because he was a climber and still is. He is 7 years old. My second cat is Bailey and she is 5 years old named after someone in a tv show that my daughter liked. My third cat is Lenny and I have no idea where that came from. It sounded good at the time.

I had 40 cats in my house one time because we were unable to pay 4 all of them to get spayed or neutured. But they all were fed well and the house was really clean and each one had its own special name, one liter of kittens was named after fruit like Bananas and Kiwi, another liter was named after candy like Starburst and Reese's. But my fav male cat in my house was Big Papa he got his name by listening to my music when he was little and every time the song Big Papa by Notorious B.I.G. came on he would bob his head up and down. Now I live in a apartment and I have to of his relative's Smokie and Blackie. All the other cats got a good home. I wanted to keep Big Papa but we had to pt him down because he got into a fight with a stray cat and he got feline AIDS.

My cat's name is Baby. Someone left him in my van while I was at work one day and I thought it was a girl. After we found out it was a boy we just kept the name. He used lay in my arms,on his back, just like a baby so that's why we named him that.

It's all simply a matter of personal preference. We have short hair and guys like it. And i prefer a guy with short hair over a man with long hair because long curly hair tends to make guys look too girly.
