Easy Crockpot Beef Roast
1 chuck or rump Beef Roast (sized for your crockpot)
1/2 Cup of Water
1 Packet of Ranch Dressing Mix
1 Packet of Italian Dressing Mix
1 Packet of Brown Gravy Mix
Put roast in crockpot, pour water around the base. Sprinkle all 3 dry seasoning packets over roast. Cover and cook for 6-7 hours on low. Remove roast to cutting board and let sit 15 minutes; slice thinly across the grain (electric knife works best).
It makes great tasting gravy too, that tastes like you browned it and simmered it all day on the stove. Doesn't taste AT ALL like salad dressing!!!

"Slightly Italian" Crockpot Chicken
1 can mushroom pieces, drained
1 15 oz can artichoke hearts, drained (not the marinated ones, just packed in water)
1 bunch green onions, chopped
1 Tb. tapioca
1 tsp. chicken billion (or one cube, if you buy it that way)
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
Sauce:
2 Tb. lemon juice
1 tsp. dried oregano
1 tsp. garlic powder
1/3 cup "lite" or no fat Italian salad dressing
1/2 cup white wine
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
Spray the crockpot with nonstick cooking spray. Add mushrooms, artichoke hearts, and green onions. Sprinkle the vegetables with the tapioca and chicken billion.
Wash and dry the chicken breasts and place them on top of the vegetables.
Combine remaining ingredients and pour on top of the chicken and vegetables. Cover and high for 5-6 hours.
Pulled Pork
(Crockpot)
1 T oil
2 chopped onions
6 minced garlic cloves
1 T chili powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
12 oz chili sauce (1 small bottle)
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1 T Worcestershire
3 lb. pork shoulder
Saute the onions in the oil until soft. Add garlic, chili powder, and pepper and cook another minute or so. Add chili sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce. Heat till boiling stirring constantly.
Put the pork shoulder in the crockpot and pour the sauce over it. Cover and cook on low 12 hours or on high 6 hours, until pork is basically falling apart. (Longer never hurts.) Shred the meat with a pair of forks and return to the pot and keep warm in the sauce. Serve over buns.
This makes a LOT of pork. I typically freeze the leftovers and they reheat just fine.

Beef Roast: you put in a nice size (depending on the size of the cooker) but dont cut it up, add water about half full, a whole onion, 3 beef boulion cubes, montreal seasoning, baby carrots, mushrooms(optional), and cubed potatoes, all at once. Let it cook probably for about 6-8 hours and it will be the most tender peice of meat you''d ever tasted. Goes great with homemade biscuits and butter.

I am making pork steak in mine tomorrow. Pork steak isn't the most tender of cuts but it falls apart when made in crockpot. I let them cook and make juices and then I pour a can of sauerkraut the bavarian kind with the caraway over the top and let it cook some more. I serve it over and with mashed potatoes and peas. I like canned peas myself (call me crazy) but I have pea pods in the garden just waiting for me to use.

I keep saying it over and over and I still don't get it.
...quick receipes for a slow cooker...
Hey, is this George Carlin? He would cook jumbo shrimp quick in his slow cooker. What is a jumbo shrimp, a large shrimp, or a small jumbo?
but I digress,
...quick receipes for a slow cooker... hmmm, it may take a long time to figure this out.

I like getting a peppercorn burgandy roast from schwann's, adding some frozen veggies and fresh cut potatoes, about a cup of water. Flip it on high for about 8 hours.... yummy. Put the potatoes in the bottom, then the veggies, then the roast on top for excellently flavored sides.

Italian Beef: beef roast, then buy bottle of Italian Seasoning Spice, garlic, crushed red pepper, (not too much of that or it will be hotter than hot), Let it cook all day, then shred it with a fork. Serve on Hoagie buns, with Mozzarella cheese.
