You have to be really careful with dieting at your age, because your body is growing and needs a lot of different kinds of nutrition. Take a good multivitamin, and start exercising, and try to cut fatty things from your diet. The more muscle you build, the more your body burns calories.

If your mom really cared, she'd take you to the doctor and get a referral for a personal trainer and a nutritionist.

Please don't do anything unhealthy. Stay away from high salt, high fat, empty calorie foods. Eat "real" things like fruits & vegetables. Take a vitamin supplement. Exercise aerobically daily at least 20 mins and strength train 2-3 days.

Call your doctor's office and explain your desire to lose weight. The nurse on staff will probably give you some good info and the doctor may give you a free meal plan. Ask how to get your mom to call them for real help. Leave them your mom's work, cell, and home number so they can call and give her the info.

She really should be taking a better approach than bribery. This is a health issue, not a behavioral issue, and your doctor needs to be involved.

Good luck! Stick to it and you'll be successful!

You need to seriously want to lose this weight for reasons other than a new computer.. you won't keep the weight off either if you aren't doing it for your health. I suggest take it off slowly. twenty pounds can be lost over the course of two months, plenty of time, and you wont' have to restrict yourself or do anything excessive. it will also make you get into a habit of healthy living.
Eat about 1800 calories a day and exercise for approximately 30- 45 min. each. day... you can break it up into 2- 15 min. intervals if you need to
good luck

it's never good to lose weight too fast.
January is a few months away yet, so maybe 20 lbs isn't too risky. what ever you do, don't just stop eating as that: #1 slows down your metabolism, #2 puts you at risk for all kinds of health problems.
ask your doctor if you need to lose 20 pounds, then if he says yes, ask him/her to put you on a 1000 or 2000 calorie a day diet. that way he/she can watch your progress, and you will be safe (health wise i mean).

Eat healthier, or there is this rice diet, you can get a book to explain that, or you can eat healthier excercise and dont sit on the couch all day and watch tv or sit on the computer thats a good way.

Views about weight loss

Today I am going to introduce you my fight with my weight problem. I have been working to lose weight. What I have been doing for losing weight is waking up early in the morning around 6 am (Which is early for me as I was used to wake up around 8 in the morning).

I went out after doing the morning daily routine works. I run around 1.5 km in the morning. It is a great idea going for running in the morning as it keeps me active for the whole day. One thing I want to mention is that running is going to help us much as compared to walking. I do some easy exercise for around 30 minutes per day. After running and exercising and running, I return home.

Now I get ready for my office. Take my breakfast and reached office by 10. One thing I take care for the whole day is that I do not go for the junk food. I never get idle after taking my breakfast/lunch or dinner. I do some (around 10 minutes) walking after taking my lunch and dinner. It is very harmful to go to bad immediately after taking the dinner. So all in all I want to say that I do some activity (like walking) after my eating’s.

One thing, which I always follow, is that never drive if the distance is less than 1 km. I think it is not a difficult routine to follow.

It's best not to lose weight quickly, as you will regain it even quicker.

Start a simple exercise program, like walking each evening and eating healthier.
