Think about it. About 500 years ago (middle ages) everyone was basically devoted to a religion. But the more technologically advanced we become, the more atheism grows. Which makes me come to the conclusion that any type of religion will die out within 1,000 to 2,000 years. Your thoughts?

Yes at some point religion will be eradicated, I don't think it will be that far out. Maybe more like your first statement of 100 years from now. With what a smart man knows in today's times would make him a god 500 years ago. You would be able to save liefs just by putting your hands on someones chest and you would be able to breath life back in to them after they drown while swimming. No one would ever pray to their false god and would pray to you.. I would be known as GOD JIM. I would beable to tell my followers how to build wepons that could wipe out any army at the time. I would be able to teach them to build great ships and maybe even a flying machine.

Oh my I'm trying to say that GOD was a space man or a man from a later time and went back in time? Well that story works as good as any for me.

But yes god and marrage both will fade out.

If Jesus doesn't come soon no flesh will be saved alive.
we haven't got 500 years
We are to technology advanced to last to much longer.
Knowledge is out there and how they made bombs in the first place is out there. these people commit sucide they would think nothing of taking the whole world with them.
They think they are going to heaven and don't need the earth

I dont think so, I think that if man hasnt figured out all the wonders of the universe yet, they wont any time soon. However, as far as technology goes, we'll probably destroy ourselves in less than 1000 years, so in that way yes, religion will die out.

Only if humanity dies off. Afterall, when you think about it, new religions spawn up every now and then without having anything based on them. It'd be possible to live in a world composed virtually entirely of athiests, but with a few non-athiests in the world, and new cults popping up every few years. But I don't think there's ever going to be a world in which religion entirely doesn't exist...

Maybe a world of agnostics!

If the rate of growth and technology in our society could be maintained ... I'd say yes. Unfortunately I believe we're reaching a point of stagnation and potential regression.

The key to eliminating religion is through education and the elimination of poverty. People without much to look forward to, in this life, are much easier to coax with promises of a better life later.

It has existed for longer than that and will continue to exist. It is only shrinking in the little world that you live in.
