Where I live property taxes go to school. We also have donor towns (towns where the population on average is richer) where the residents of these towns pay more in property taxes to the state to help offset the taxes in the poorer towns.

Our state tax, county property tax, & new lottery pays for schools.
I think it is pretty normal for property tax for fund schools, does not seem fair since large group of renters have no responsiblitity to pay for schools. I have no children left, but pay a large portion of school expenses.

That's how it is in most areas of the country. Half of the voters (50.0001%) can legally steal right out of your pocket, so you end up paying to send THEIR children to school, while they also try to ban school vouchers that would help others (especially the less fortunate) to afford tuition at other schools of their choice.

Sounds like bigotry to me.
