i mean i know about the water retention part but what else is bad about it?

sodium itself is not bad for you, but excess sodium intake can cause problems...mainly the water retention (as you mentioned) which can also cause hypertension (as the heart as to beat harder to push blood through the arteries when tissues are retaining fluid).

Its bad for your heart. Sodium is salt and you remember how your mom or dad told you not to use to much salt on this and that, well thats why. Dont get me wrong, you do need sodium in your diet. I would say between 2000-2500 mg a day.

sodium falls into a category know as "electrolytes" along with potasium. sodium is involved in complex processes such as the nervous and exocrine systems. if your body has too much sodium then you can have problems at the molecular level of physiology.

Who told you that it was? If it was bad for you that cute little girl on the Morton Salt label(with the umbrella) wouldn't be so rich.
