Jesus' first miracle was changing water into wine. He used wine at the Last Supper. Why are you using grape juice?

Vanilla extract contains alcohol. Have you ever put that in your child's food?
We use wine for the precious blood at my church. It is an option. You do not have to have any to fulfill communion. Communion wine is very low in alcohol.
In some churchs you dip the host in the wine. Surely a child is not going to get drunk with this.
A recovering alcoholic has the right to pass by the communion cup. If he/she decides to partake of the cup, there is not enough alcohol to hurt them.
Give me some more reasons, please!

Because theyre idiots. There's nothing wrong with alcohol in such trace amounts. However, the bible does say
RO
14:21 it is good to refrain from drinking wine.
THAT could be why.

They believe that the "wine" that Jesus made was grape juice. Fermantation is a process of rotting, so why would he condone us poluting the body with a rotten substance?
The sons or Aaron were killed because they had gotten drunk and tried to use man-kindled fire in the tabernacle rather than the fire that God had made. The alcohol hinders judgement, but God says "come, let us reason together." How god are your reasonig skills when you are drunk?
The daughters of Lot made him drunk and then slept with him so that they could have children, and God cursed the children because of the way they were conceived. Lot would not have consented to sex with his daughters if he had not been drunk.
And, look at this phrase from Isa 65:8 " As the new wine is found in the cluster..." How can you have "wine" before the grape has been chrshed and begins to rot?
I hold the belief that when the Bible uses the term "wine" it refers to juice. I am not certain, but I have the opinion that the Hebrew language does not have a word that can be directly translated as "juice". When the Bible speaks of alcohol, it uses phrases such as "old wine" or "strong drink", and in one occasion "vinegar" which Jesus refused to drink while dieing on the cross. (Juice that does not fermant properly turns to vinegar.)

For one thing, the states forbid giving even a sip of wine to a minor and Churches dont want to restrict communion to those over 21 and because a lot of people are recovering alcoholics and one sip could set them back... AND because alcohol can have adverse effects on people using certain medications. So its more a law and safety issue. Its not all churches who use grape juice but those that do, this is why.

Some actually do use wine.. but most use Grape juice because after all Wine is alcohol. and miners do take communion..
Besides it is the Symbolism that is important.. not the substance of what the drink is.

Because for people who are alcoholics, etc., even one taste of wine could let to problems for them. So many Churches use either juice or non-alcoholic wine to as not to cause problems for them. Plus it is illegal to serve it to minors in all state, and to adults in some cities and counties.

our church uses grapes for communion because we do not want to be a stumbling block for the people that are recovering from alcoholism.

because some christian religions find wine a sin, they took a passage the wrong way,or rather took a different meaning from one.( I think it meant dont get drunk not dont drink) There are those who also banish dancing and music, some even think that letting boys and girls use the same elevator is a sin.....they might touch oh no!

There are such things as alchoholics for whom drinking wine is a stumbling block. There are also children, and teens too young to drink wine. We are just being sensitive to the needs of others.
