Hey, that looks like snot in a shell. Hmmm ... I wonder if it would taste like snot... Hmmm ... I love the taste of my snot ... but could that little creature possible taste as good as my snot ... Hmmm ... only one way to find out ...

Yuck! That's horrible! I'll stick to eating snot!

In France this is quite a delicacy and probably originated from this area. Eventually it drifted to the U.S. and has taken on a slow appreciation to it's flavor or taste. Personally I'm not in favor for the dish however to each it's own.

Snails? I didn't know snails were a delicacy. Clams are like snot and disgusting too.

He was probably thinking ... takes too much effort running after hens, deers, heck even spotty cows ...
Why not just bend over and go for these handy snot-in-a-shell

I could see that he was starving if he ate raw snails.

But snails are cooked in garlic and butter. How did he come up with that????
