Everyone gets a kick out of my use of my thick bass baritone range. In band we'll have to sing out parts. Only me and about four others can sing it in tune. I belt out my part and they think its hilariious with all the vibrato. If I go along singing something people don't take me seriously. Its not because I lack musical as I do, according to a lot of people. I guess the style and timbre of my voice is really not heard at all in pop music. It really doesn't bother me, just curious as to what you think would bolster this.

Its not because I suck, ask my chruch, my family, many choir students, plus many band students. I was considering just because they probabley never heard anything like it. I knew a guy who was laughed at the same way.

Broadwayish music is for singing on Broadway or a good nightclub. Broadway is never good for other styles of music.

Are you sure that's how you sound, or is it just how you _think_ you sound? I've known people in exactly your situation, asking "why do people mock my singing?" - the simple answer was "well, its because you suck". The human mind is a strange thing - you can be singing like a dying walrus and still _think_ you sound like *insert famous singer's name here*... (I don't know any famous singers, in my opinion the human voice is the most irritating and over-used musical instrument ever created.)

I don't think you're bad and I don't think that they think you're bad. It's probably just because they're the ones who are uneducated or jealous.
