I like the Atheists I know; since coming to this site, I am really disappointed in the quality of discourse between the two camps. Both sides are far more than the belligerent few who streak across the site flaming one another, but the rest of us tend to not reply to the flaming after awhile.

And then again, some of us just report the fools until they learn or go away.

No, I still try to follow the Golden Rule, and to pray for the souls of everyone, including myself. What interests me, however, is whether you, an atheist, have a different outlook on Christians since you came to this site.

In order not to believe IN God, you have to believe there IS a God for you not to believe in.

Furthermore, it's apparent there are many Christians on this site and I don't see them baiting or proselytizing atheists. They're too busy trying to give thoughtful, loving answers to all the atheists who feel compelled to poke and prod at their beliefs.

Could it be atheists are hanging around here because the Spirit is moving them?

EDIT:

LOL, DuckPhup. No, you're doing a far better job of that all by yourself. Look at your rebuttal argument: "You have to believe in Santa Claus in order to believe there is no Santa Claus."

That's pretty much the way it happens: first you believe in Santa, then someone comes along to tell you not to. You've simply proved my point by using an analogy. Thanks!

Also, I did not say that atheism is a belief in and of itself.

I must preface this by saying i am neither atheist nor christian, hence unbiased. I am in fact an agnostic theist. Unfortunately, I feel that most Christians are beyond persuasion and will still condemn atheists no matter what happens. I, however, feel for you.

Yes. If the questions here are anything to go by they've gone down in my estimation.
I have no problem with anyones beliefs or lack of beliefs, but this 'God sucks' rubbish is getting old, people really need to give it a a rest.
If you don't believe in God that's your choice but you should leave other people beliefs alone.

No,,, I have known atheists before. I do appreciate this site, tho, and the opportunities to dialog with all kinds of people,,, and to ask questions that are hard to research, and to share recipes and knowledge and stuff.

I think that's pretty much the stupidest thing I ever heard. That's like saying "You have to believe in Santa Claus in order to believe there is no Santa Claus."

To say that atheism is a belief is like saying not collecting stamps is a hobby.

Please, SpencerCat... you are giving dumbasses a bad name.

Nah stupidity is pretty hard to hide. Atheists have been doing a good job showing us this for years

Yes, I had no idea that they are a cult of devil worshipers, I thought they were people who didn't believe in God, but if they believe so much in satan then they have to know that God is real to.

I'm not Christian, but I do believe in the Great Spirit. If you don't that is your prerogative. Your the one who has to answer that question.
