What is the point of this life if we are supposed to go to heaven and live in a world of limitless posibilities forever? Wouldn't this life be pretty pointless if that were true? Also, why would god invent the laws of phisics for our universe if heaven is filled with limitless possibilities? And I do not care for answers along the lines of "God works in mysterious ways"....

Shouldn't the point of life be that you live because this is the only life you'll ever get? Also, wouldn't God seem like a jerk if he didnt let everyone into heaven?

"What's the point of this life if you get to live in heaven anyways?" -- You get into heaven when GOD says, not because you listened to humans, and think that's enough.
"Also, why would god invent the laws of phisics for our universe if heaven is filled with limitless possibilities?" -- Because they are not connected! Who ever said they were connected? Your assuming that GOD has our limitations. GOD has no limitations. Our universe works this way because HE wants to operate these rules, why couldn't GOD make as many universes as he wants - like snow globes - and show them off on his mantle? Or we could be like people from "Horton hears a Who" - where we are so microscopic that no ones but GOD knows we're here!
So to review:
1. God determines who gets into heaven
2. God has NO limitations to what HE can or can not make.
Humans put limitations for what GOD can or can't do - and that's a sure sign something smells rotten - with the humans.

Not everyone goes to heaven, only those that realize they are sinners and accept Christ as their Lord and Savior. God created this world including yourself for his pleasure. Our job on this earth is to become as Christ-like as possible and live our life to glorify God and tell others that the gift of Grace is available to all those who believe. That is our true purpose in this world and no I have not always thought this way. Whether or not you choose to follow this path will determine whether you go to heaven or not. It was made clear in the bible that God desires that we all go to heaven but no one comes to the Father except through Christ.

The bible says the earth will last forever. Forever? Seems like a long time to me. To be sure, it will be cleansed with fire and all, but I think we will be experiencing heaven on earth. Heaven is meant to be a special for the church, His bride. Maybe the earth will be our playground? Look up Jack VanImpe. He's very knowledgable about these things.

The point of this life on earth is to prepare you to live in heaven. You can't be the same person on earth and expect for heaven to be the same as heaven. We tried to live by god's word so that we may join him one day in heaven. Everyone doesn't go to heaven and the pure in heart, and those who live holy according to god's written words. Lean not unto thy own understanding and he shall direct thy path.

God put us in this world as a training ground, in order to prepare us for something big, according to His beautiful plans that He has set for each one of us. God love to have a fellowship with His creation (human, because we are created in His image). So.... we must be immovable, abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not without fruit in the Lord. =)
