I read a few things. That the Latino community felt business was down, that there were fewer Hispanics around, that the city was going to be sued and some DC Democrats had government lawyers make up a case against the ordinance so they changed the ordinance to avoid the write up. I heard that Riverside passed something similar and some town in New Jersey and so did some other town somewhere weird that had almost no Hispanics in it at all but described it as 'preventative maintenance'.
I know that in Riverside landlords have found deserted dwellings still full of tenant belongings, but I haven't heard that much detail about Hazelton. Except that a neighboring town was thinking of passing the same thing so they wouldn't get illegal immigrants coming away from Hazelton.
Here, this just out, that neighboring town passed its own mirror law: "The Illegal Immigration Relief Act is now the law in the Borough of Mahanoy City.
Without fanfare or protest from the public, borough council on Tuesday gave unanimous approval to the formal adoption of its Illegal Immigration Relief Act Ordinance, which deems it unlawful for a landlord to knowingly rent or lease a housing to an illegal immigrant and subjects business owners who knowingly employ illegal immigrants to financial penalties."

Hey, they must have known you were asking that question - here is an article on that very thing.

Did anyone hear what was happening in Hazelton, PA BEFORE the immigration bill was passed?
Hmm.....didn't think so.
So crime was a OK.......before "illegals"?
Before it was a became CLEAR that only ILLEGALS committed ALL the crimes.............what was HAZELTON like? Was it crime free?
There is the question.

Swirls, yes they've reported crime down dramatically - how could it not, you take out the illegal element, the businesses that support them dry up, and they leave.
Did you really think it would happen any other way? LOL
