I have a friend who is very asthmatic, but from what I can see, she is taking too much of her inhalers, and I think this is causing her to have problems with anxiety attacks which usually put her in the hospital.

Yes, you can overdose on asthma meds. If your friend is having to use them that often then her method of treatment is not working and she needs to let her doctor know.
Anxiety attacks can trigger asthma attacks so it may not be the meds but the meds do tend to make the heart race.

It sounds like her asthma is out of control. The rescue inhalers should only be needed occasionally. If you need them all the time they become ineffective and the asthmatic gets no relief. It is only natural to panic when needing relief and not getting any from the inhaler. The best way to prevent this is by getting the asthma under control - breathing treatments and possibly steroids, and then taking preventative medications every day to prevent a flare up then weaning off the steroids. The best way to predict that the asthma is getting out of control is to use a flow meter every day. Then when the flow meter indicates that there is a problem, follow the instructions of the doctor to get symptoms back under control.
People still die from severe asthma attacks. This is a serious illness.

She will probably be fine with overdosing a little bit. But way too much will make her asthma worst by making your body dependent on in.

Yes, it is possible. If the friend is using the medicines too often, then the care regime is not right. There are longer acting medicines that limit the use of inhalers.
