I have read comments from atheists claiming that if it weren't for Christians they would be thousands of years ahead of time.
Isn't time for you to be living in other planets and own your own space ships, since you already know the truths of life?
No, even better your own jet packs.
I think you should forget about what Christians think and do what you think is favorable to you to make the world modernized and more advanced that it already is.
And this is not atheists job, is scientists jobs. People are giving you the "scientists" tittle a lot which is incorrect. Not all the scientists are atheists, nor the atheists are scientists.

And to the guy who told me that I didn't know how to write in proper English. I am Bilingual, and you probably aren't. English isn't my first language, and look at me communicating with atheists from another planet.

I prophesies that it will be in the year 5300, there will be a great war between the the species of man and we will be scattered among the stars, we who seek truth, the truth of true enlightenment through science and the knowledge of the universe will find a planet where our knowledge and technological power will grow to hieghts never before seen by man. Those of religious faith will find a planet where they can wait for their Armageddon. 2000 years will pass and we will have forgotten about each other, when one day us of science find a burned out plant riddle with the damage of a great war. Our archaeologist will then come to find out that these were our bother that splint from us to find their own path through faith and religion. They found it all right they found it in death, and there tragedy would be used by the teacher of our world to teach our children of pain and destruction that false hope brings.
if it were not for the dark ages we would be 800 years more advanced in science. The Christians of that time outlawed science.

Actually Atheists are correct.
Before Mohammad and Allah the Persians, Arabs and Iraqi's were the most brilliant people on Earth.
Look at them after ISLAM took over.
Chritians have their own DARK AGES imposed by the Church.
Religion impeeds such progress, but it is also keep us from rushing into things.
Case in point, Genetic splicing and modification. WHAT IF, scientists create a nasty virus, something worse than the Plague.
Can you image some Science experiment wiping out 90% of the humans and maybe even animals on Earth.
Now, I am for space. I am also for doing Genetic research. Let's do on the Moon. We can always put a a plaque praising the dead scientists for trying their best to help mankind before we pour cement over the whole lab.

"I have read comments from atheists claiming that if it weren't for Christians they would be thousands of years ahead of time."
Thousands of years ahead of time? What does that even mean? I've never heard that. I would ask for clarification from whoever said that.
"Isn't time for you to be living in other planets and own your own space ships, since you already know the truths of life?"
First of all, atheists don't claim to have all the answers, that's what many Christians claim though. They claim to know all of the reasons why we are here, how the universe was created, how to prepare for the afterlife, etc. Secondly, what does owning spaceships and living on other planets have to do with knowing the "truths of life"?
"I think you should forget about what Christians think and do what you think is favorable to you to make the world modernized and more advanced that it already is."
We're trying, people that believe in myths are getting in the way though.
"And this is not atheists job, is scientists jobs"
What job? Making the world a better place? You're wrong, that is a job for all of humanity.
"People are giving you the "scientists" tittle a lot which is incorrect. Not all the scientists are atheists, nor the atheists are scientists."
I completely agree with you on that.

Well your last 2 paragraphs are dead on.
As for jet packs and all that, that's the point, we can't!! We spent the last 1,500 years wondering how many angels can dance on the head of a pin instead of solving diseases and technological problems.
How do you explain that only in the last 100-200 years we have increased our lifespan from the 40's to the 70's? Granted there were political problems and economic and others, but you know darn well that every time an innovation came up that contradicted the bible, there was hell to pay. If Galileo didn't get home-jailed for telling the truth, how many more scientists might have taken up his ideas? What about the germ theory?
You haven't contradicted atheist's statements.

In actuality, civilization owes gratitude to various sects of Christianity for preserving some at-risk works through the "Dark Ages." But Christianity, and other religions have slowed the progress.
Galileo and Newton were both persecuted by the Church. The library at Alexandra was burned by Muslims who objected to the historical documents which were at odds with their faith-based record of history.
Even social structures were hurt by the church. Missionaries in the Americas, Africa, and throughout the Pacific enforced dress codes, discouraged speaking native languages, and made active efforts to destroy any written documents in such native languages.
Even today, here in America, there is a misguided effort to use "Intelligent Design" as an alternative science course. The fact is, if a student is seeking a future in medical or anatomical sciences, they need to have solid foundation in Evolutionary Sciences, not divine intervention.

I don't know what atheists you've been talking to, but they sound like they're lacking more than a close relationship to God. But in their defense I will say that psychologically and culturally speaking, society is probably centuries behind where it should be because of regressive religious policies which only hurt and hinder the human condition. That doesn't mean that we'd be all living the life of George Jetson now if it weren't for Christians, but we'd probably have gotten past slavery and homophobia and sexism a lot quicker than we are.

I kinda like the way this planet works (except for the people part). Yes, I probably do know most of the answers, including the spaceship part, but to get the money to build that stuff, I would have to suck up to the nutcase religionists who have bullied their way into all of the money for research, etc.
KeeeRyst!! You can't even be a college professor and say anything about 9/11 without getting burned about being a conspiracy theorist these days. Can't imagine trying to build a faster-than-light spaceship and getting away with it before the freekin' rightwing controllers from the oil companies come along and confiscate it.
Wouldn't be prudent....free energy would destroy the economy....read my lips....Mission Accomplished (well, maybe MISSIONARY Accomplished, 'cause somebody's gettin' screwed!!)

Dude you are too smart. If atheists can live in other planets, so can all the religious believers. Technology are shared by all the people, not only one particular group. Our scientific revolution is only a few hundred years, we can't live in another planet yet. It will take hundreds or even thousands of years more of scientific researches. And who said atheists are smarter? Even if they are really smarter doesn't mean they can have better technology. Technology require time, money, resource, and labor. Not all people can fulfill these 4 requirements.

We are working on it, if you guys had not killed off most of the people smarter than you in the inquisition we might have already been able to put a man into orbit or maybe even been able to get people to the moon and back.
But I guess we can just put that all on hold while you people figure out what God would do.

actually the inquisition and other taboos on scientific development put in place by the church have hindered the progress. Imagine if Galileo had been able to freely publish his ideas. Imagine if budding scientists hadn't been to frightened to follow their research for fear of being called a heretic. It's all supposition sure but what if?

You're just opening yourself up to a lot of bashing. Why would you go about judging anyone and throwing all of one belief into the same muck hole? Now they are going to think that you are a Christian and blame the Christians for your insensitive comments.
By the way, it should read: "living on other planets" not "living in other planets". Where did you get your edumacation any way?
Oh, please don't answer that, we may have to read some more improper English. lol
