If it stalled while mowing, you may have forgotten to disengage the blades before trying to restart it. If the blades are still engaged then the safety switch will prevent it from starting.

Try the troubleshooting section of the manual.
My hunch is that your mower deck is packed full of debris. Try a water hose to loosen the crud, then look for pieces of wiring like a piece of chain link or something similar.

I think flowerspirit and woman of faith could not have said it better. One thing, what do you mean by won't start? It does'nt turn over? It just keeps cranking? What about when it is in nuetral? Right on ladies. Way to call it.

GET DOWN ON THE GROUND AND LOOK UNDERNEATH....THE CLUMP OR PILE THAT YOU RAN OVER IS STUCK UNDER THE BLADES.....USUALLY....AND CAN BE REMOVED BY HAND OR WITH A RAKE HANDLE.....OTHERWISE YOULL RIP THE THE BELTS...IF THAT HASNT ALREADY HAPPENED....THAT MIGHT BE WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN WHICH CASE YOU NEED TO PURCHASE A NEW ONE AND REPLACE IT.....

Did it stop it violently? could have sheared the flywheel key.

Btw, people think about it.... a riding mower engine should start, even if the deck blades are stuck.
