The same reason you test yourself.
You love yourself - GOD loves you more. You sometimes feel that you've let yourself down, failed your self image, GOD sees it as a time of growth. People take the same tests all the time - until they pass them, why are the tests from GOD one time only? LEARN AND GROW. People are near - because they help, if needed. That's what a community is - people helping each other. Your life helps people near you - by example. BE A GOOD EXAMPLE.
"Especially, when the bible was made to be mistrusted." -- the bible is not a cheat sheet - it's just the frame work to starting a life. You fill in the details by your choices.
Yes, God is #1 - you are correct. (mans rules make it confusing to people - for man wants control.)

Actually he never test us, he let things happen, sometimes bad things happen to us because of our acts, and the bible was not made to be mistrusted, we mislead everything, because of the free will we want to do what we think is right, and yes God is # 1, that's perfection, he is perfect!

It's more like a "trial and error" for us rather than God testing us. Why would He tests his creation when expected that a perfect creator creates anything less than perfect? The "trial and error" thing is more acceptable because it implies the continuing process of God's creation upon us towards perfection.

Look at Job in The Bible. Its like GOD did not love him when he went through the horrendous problems, but the moral of that like the rest of The Bible is God tests us to see how strong our faith in Him and to build character. Whoa! If I had Job's misery, I would probably be atheist. ;-)

Does He really test us? or does He let us choose how we want to proceed? If we are faced with a catastrophe as all beings are, do we fall in despair, self-pity, hate and anger and remain like that? or accept the facts of our existence and remain close to Him? I'm sure most of those survivors will tell you that they got through doing the later.

To test our faith and love for him. I have always trusted in God even if I don't understand why or what is going on. I just pray and ask for guidance. God is # 1

Muslims understand this life is a test, we will be asked about every single thing; the blessings and favors of Almighty Allah (God) and what we did with them. On the Day of Judgment we will see who is the best (and worst) in deeds. First understand what is testing and its meaning.
Quran, chapter 29:2-3 "Do they think they will be left alone by saying, 'We believe!'? For sure they will be tested just as those before them were tested, to show the truthful in their truth and the liars in their falsehood."
How we handle each situation is all a part of our test. Wealth, health, position and rank in society are as much a test as are poverty, sickness and hard times.
Chapter 2:155 "And certainly, Allah (God) shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to those who perserve in patience."
The 'good' of this life and the 'hardships' are both tests.
Chapter 3:140 "If a wound has touched you, be sure a similar wound has touched the others. And so are the days (good and not so good), Allah (God) gives to men by turns, that Allah (God) may test those who believe, and that He may take martyrs from among you. And Allah does not like the oppressers (polytheists and wrongdoers)."
Tests come in all forms and the measure of success depends on how well we handle each situation. Patience is important.
Chapter 3:142 "Do you think that you will enter Paradise before Allah (God) tests those of you who struggle and strive (for His sake) and tests those who are perserving and patient?"
Allah (God) says in His Quran that He did not create all of this for any foolish purpose. He tells us that He created us for the purpose of worshiping Him, Alone and without any partners.
Now to the main question God loves us all then why does he test us??
Man makes his entrance into this world in an animal body with a built-in pure soul, which enters the fetus during the 4th month of conception. In other words, Man is a soul cloaked in an animal body. This soul becomes polluted during its sojourn on Earth and has to return to God after the last heart-beat. All Earthly diseases and defects, physical or mental, are left behind on planet Earth with the dead body, but the soul departs to return to its origin, God.
The process of purification of the soul begins with whatever corrective measures needed for it. The soul will be rinsed off, from whatever impurities it had collected during its Earthly sojourn and will be purified before being allowed to enter. This purification is done through tests, trial, tribulations, amongst other things. We will finally gain Paradise where we would have a full vision of God for eternity...
In Paradise, all Earthly defects will be corrected and God will remove all hatred and bitterness from our hearts. For God says, what means:
*{And We will remove whatever of ill-feeling is in their breasts; the rivers shall flow beneath them and they shall say: “All praise is due to Allah Who guided us to this, and we would not have found the way had it not been that Allah had guided us; certainly the messengers of our Lord brought the truth;” and it shall be cried out to them that this is the garden of which you are made heirs for what you did.}* (Al-A`raf 7:43).
There will be no sensation of fear nor grief but peace and security and no further death. All sorrow will be removed and joy will prevail. It will be our place of final return. There will even be no headache and no intoxication from the drink.
However, although we will enter Paradise only after we are cleansed, God's mercy is so vast that some of us may be asked to enter Paradise in spite of our sins. The ills and evil tendencies responsible for our mistakes and sins on Earth will be removed from the righteous. Hence, the life after will be a divine makeup for all our sufferings in this materialistic world of today.

The bible tells in James 1. 2-4 that we should "count it all joy" when we are being tested. god tests us to maske up purer in him, if he didn't test us he wouldin't love us.

He treats us as we should treat our own children. He allows us to grow and make mistakes. In my mind he is not testing us, he is giving us options and free will and hopes we will make good decisions based on what he has taught us in his word.

cos if he didn't we wouldn't pray, it says this in the bible that god lets some bad things happen to us so we will continue to praise him if our lifes go smooth then we don't belive in god and see no need to pray.
