Jesus was conceived in his mother's womb solely by the power of the Holy Spirit. This is known as the virgin birth. We don't know anything more about it.
The immaculate conception refers to the conception of Jesus' mother Mary in HER OWN MOTHER'S WOMB, without the stain of original sin.
While Jesus was also certainly born without sin, the immaculate conception refers specifically to his mother's conception, not his.
Referring to some of the other comments:
What kind of a sign would it be if a maiden (a young girl) conceived a child? No sign at all!
Whoever said the immaculate conception had anything to do with the prenatal Jesus was either totally wrong or just did a very bad job of explaining the point.
As for the crack about a "Mystery Religion" the only mystery religion I know of is the 31,000 different Protestant denominations who can't agree on a common creed, but who all claim to be guided in truth by the same Holy Spirit. Now there's a MYSTERY for you!

"Immaculate conception" has nothing to do with the virginity of Mary at the time of the conception of Jesus Christ. It is a later Catholic doctrine that states MARY was sinless at the time of her pregnancy (prenatal Jesus).
BTW, if Jesus' conception had come about as a result of in-vitro fertilization, it would not have counted as a "virgin birth" or a miracle. The whole point was, that there was NO SPERM to create the Baby Jesus within Mary. God initiated Life within a womb that had never had contact--ANY CONTACT--with any man.

I know that it wasn't Immaculate Conception. That is a doctrine from the Mystery Religion. It was a vigin birth. Other than that, I don't know if God would call it IVF.
He just put life in there. That life came out as Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ. I wouldn't waste time trying to find out what method was used. I am highly suspecting that there was no freezing involved, and I wouldn't think that God needed semen to perform the task. He created life after all!

The Immaculate Conception refers to the Catholic teaching that Mary the Mother of Jesus was born without the stain of original sin. Jesus' birth was natural, but according to Christian belief, he was concieved without the help of a man and is hence called the Virgin Birth.

An Immaculate Conception is a spiritual state and means being born without Original Sin it is NOT a process of in vetero fertilisation ie where a fertilised egg is transferred to the patient's uterus with the intent to establish a successful pregnancy.

If you choose to blaspheme against God, Jesus Christ, The Holy Ghost, Queen of the Universe Holy Mother Mary, then you will suffer in damnation in the eternal part of your life.
Forget reading about 'other bulls***' and get real. Your remarks and some of the disrespectful answers to your question are signs of human the human arrogance and ignorance, which by the way are selfinfalted by your jumped up egos.
Repent from your heart and you may have a chance.
Remeber, you chose to think like this, no-one forced you.

Immaculate conception is SYMBOLIC -- it's a commonly-used symbol to represent when a person is enlightened -- the person no longer sees themselves as the individual (the physical person) but, instead, realizes themselves as 'spirit' (as everythnig - completely non-dualistic -- at one with everything and not confined to the identity of the individual person in the physical body). Some stories use the same symbol for the Buddha.

The "immaculate" conception was a lie developed as a means of saving Mary's life ... as she would have been stoned to death otherwise.

In the "original" version, the word used to denote VIRGIN can also be used to mean MAIDEN. It is thought that context indicated VIRGIN. But there is a possibility that maybe they did really mean MAIDEN.
So which makes more sense ? Why was there a NEED for it to be a virgin birth ? If the bible had referred to Joseph's wife as the MAIDEN MARY, rather than the VIRGIN MARY, would it have made more sense ? Some people want to really make everything miraculous.

Do you mean the place where he parks his boat? Or are you referring to his bunk below decks? 'Cause he did keep that spotless. That's what a berth is.
