I have a 5yr old and 7yr old daughters. They are constantly hitting and slapping, kicking and punching. My oldest throws her weight and body slams her younger sister! I am tired of this and can't find a solution that will calm them down. They do not listen and are constantly starting trouble with each other! HELP!

punish them BOTH... doesnt matter who started it
they need to be sent to time out
have a no fighting, teasing, dobbing policy... if they break it they both get punished
this will teach them to degotiate more between themselves or in other words to 'fight quietly'
never ask them what is going on otherwise you are setting yourself up for failure and you will never get the whole truth...
this way not only arent you taking sides but you are getting them to settle down
i have been doing this with my sons for amost 2 weeks now and it really really works
i am not stressed out anymore and we finally have peace in the household

Are they getting hurt? Me and my 2 brothers would go hitting each other when we were younger. We still havent grown out of it when ever we see each other we are always poking at each other and hitting at each other. Its just a thing that we do though its like 2nd nature i guess. We are right now 19youngest bro, 22 me and 28my oldest bro. I wouldnt worry to much until they get hurt.
And honestly if they arent listening to you, its a little taboo now but if my mom got to wits end with us shed whoop our butts with what ever she had in hand. It worked for us. because we knew if we didnt stop we would get worse and besides we were in our rooms because of the pain in our asses.

This is and sounds really BAD Bless your heart Hope this helps.. !! Let me tell you sister Cat..when mine were small they were not allowed to "FIGHT" ! I watched them like a mother hen and the minute they may start I would make them sit next to each other and HUG YEP HUG each other and look each other straight in the face and they did till they broke out laughing at each other and i made them say I am sorry sis or brother and could not get out to play till they made friends with each other again ! They were not allowed to call each other names either like Fool ect..I explained that the Bible stated that if you call your brother a FOOL (RACA) you are in danger of hell fire ! Now when thier kids want to fight they get the same treatment MOM (ME) used on them and say AH!! RACA Hope it is not to late for you.

i can't really help you, but I feel for ya. That's gotta be incredibly annoying. I know my brother and I did that when we were little. All I know is that they DO grow out of it......I promise they won't be in college and still punching their siblings like that....lol
