Wow, I'm just amazed at all the wonderful "Christian" responses to this question. Why is it that so many so-called believers in God have to answer any doubt with either bible quotes or hatred? Dude, whether or not God is real, or if there's more than one, or if there used to be but he's dead or gone... what difference will any of it make? Those who believe won't be happy until everyone believes the same thing, those who don't won't be happy until everyone believes the same thing... it's a vicious cycle, put in place by either evolution or God's intelligent design. I'll say this, if God does exist, he's having a good laugh at our expense.

I prophesies that it will be in the year 5300, there will be a great war between the the species of man and we will be scattered among the stars, we who seek truth, the truth of true enlightenment through science and the knowledge of the universe will find a planet where our knowledge and technological power will grow to hieghts never before seen by man. Those of religious faith will find a planet where they can wait for their Armageddon. 2000 years will pass and we will have forgotten about each other, when one day us of science find a burned out plant riddle with the damage of a great war. Our archaeologist will then come to find out that these were our bother that splint from us to find their own path through faith and religion. They found it all right they found it in death, and there tragedy would be used by the teacher of our world to teach our children of pain and destruction that false hope brings.

Just check out a sunrise, a new born baby, a beautiful flower, the solar system, your DNA. How can you believe these things and so many more could be a coincidence? The truth is there is a creator God who is merciful, just, loving, powerful, and so many more attributes that no human mind can fully comprehend them. He created us to have a realationship with Him. But man chose sin and God is Holy so in His presence man in sin would die. But He loves us so much He made a way for our relationship with Him to be restored. He sent his Son Jesus who paid the debt for our sins and if we believe in him, call him Lord, ask him to be our savior and forgive us for our sins then the price he paid for us is enough and we will be restored to our creator who Loves you and wants you to know Him.

I think there's a difference between the concepts of god -- the ego gods we create -- and the cultivation of an experience of the mystery of existence which we can call 'god' or whatever. The latter should never go away; the former, hopefully, as soon as possible.

I feel very sorry for you. Why? Because you are throwing away your chance for a wonderful eternity in heaven with God. He sent His only Son to die for your sins (and mine). I'm forever grateful that He loves me that much. I pray that you will listen for His voice in the recesses of your heart and soul. He's calling you.
