I say....... what if you two were just so in awe of each other that you just couldn't find the words to tell each other. What if there was a silent knowing that only you two felt.. and maybe weren't ready to voice out loud.
Maybe you were in love.. and you still are :)

The actual poem goes:
If you Love something,
Let it go,
If it comes back to you,
It's yours,
If not,
It never was
Well, the whole point is, let the one/thing you love be who they are, and if they turn to you for their comfort then yeah, they are meant to be, but if they just treat you as a friend, then let them go their own way.
Only you can discern the difference, and you really know if they are turning to you as a friend or as something more. Only you can decide the difference, and no matter how you feel for the other, make sure what the difference is. Don't push something that is not meant to be something more. Enjoy what you have.

I agree i let the guy i was in total love go when he needed some time. And he came back to me and we are closer and more in love now. If you truely love them then you will give them time and if they love you they wont need a lot.

I disagree. What if two people felt the same way and they broke up? They will always be waiting for the other person to come back. They might never end up together again.
