A detoxifing diet consist of foods/medicines designed to clean out the colon. Some doctors believe that we do not "poop" the amount or quaility of poop that we are supposed to. Whe we are infants, right after we ate, we pooped. As adults alot of toxins have gathered in the colon, and detoxification removes the 'backed up' mess that goes far into the intestines. You lose about 8-10 pounds on a really good detox diet, in a short time, and you feel better. be prepared to do this on a long weekend, when you have nowhere to go! You need the bathroom close! It's a cleansing diet with juices, healthy foods, and vitamins. If you follow a healthy diet and exercise you will lose weight.

It's something (I don't call this a diet) that has you take herbs, or some kind of drink to cleanse. I don't like these myself, and never recommend them, they make you feel weak and yucky. Fiber is better for cleansing, but this is only my opinion about this. Guess I've seen too many ladies get addicted to it, and develop a habit and eating disorders with these things.
