No, no Luxury or Exotic car should be a first car for any teenager. In this case insurance costs will eat you alive along with repairs. Ferraris have terrible reliability issues, don't argue at me, argue at Fiat because they own 56% of the company and 99.9% of the problems.

Unless you want to spend 6k to 7k a year in plain maintenance (not including insurance or gas) I'd recommend you stay away from ANY $20k Ferrari. When buying a car of that caliber you have to make sure you find the best example possible, not the cheapest. You also have to perform a PPI on it, just to make sure you're not buying yourself a PITA (and I can almost guarantee that that's what you're getting in a $20k Ferrari).

On a side note, I have a buddy that will spend $15k this year on maintenance for his 1998 Ferrari 355. Do you think you could handle a repair bill of that magnitude?

well, your talking about a 24 year old car, something that will be expensive as all get out to repair if it ever breaks down, or god forbid is in an accident, not to mention the fact that insurance on a ferrari is going to be outrageous for a 16 year old driver.... i say get them a late 90's model civic for about 10k and use the other 10k to make it look like a ferrari...
