When I was a teenager, I didn't have the privilege of taking Driver Education classes.
I failed my first test because I didn't know a few things......"ignorance AINT bliss"......hahaha
Back then (60's), the examiners were mostly ex-military males.
My examiner told me that women shouldn't drive and that women should stay at home and have kids and let their husbands drive. Of course, in today's society this sort of attitude would not be tolerated.
I went home and cried, eventually got over it, became angered that he took my power away and practiced, went back and took that driving test again. I was scared, but my anger got me past that point (sometimes a bit of anger is a good thing), and I passed............YAY!
I am now a Driving Instructor and have been encouraging and coaching new drivers for about 35 years.
I wouldn't say that one "fails" a Driving Test. I would say that it's just a "deferred success", because eventually most people do succeed. The lessons do help with the many complicated decisions and proper techniques required to pass a Driving Test.
I would strongly suggest that anyone wanting to take a Driving Test should take a few lessons first.........

I grew up farming, started driving around 9 years old (common in my area), got 98% at drivers education, and passed both the written and the driving tests first try. Now I drive for a living. thanks for the points...:)

BTW: most people I knew that failed the driving part did so because they were extremely nervous and were thinking about everything they're supposed to do TOO much. Just drive, you'll do fine

I passed it on my first try. It wasn't hard at all....just remember to buckle up, obey the road signs, speed limit and turn signals. Nothing to it!
