No. But at one point, I did. Last year I had hallucinations and let me tell you it's no fun when you really think it's happening to you.

Yah, but I try to ignore it... Sometimes it's my name, then other times it's just a whisper to soft to make out... I live by myself and never leave anything on when I go to sleep so apparently I'm not hearing something running. I also see shadows, sometimes just a white glow or a dark figure. Hell, sometimes it's on the floor and has four legs (I have no pets anymore so I'm confused)... Sometimes I'll see a shadow on the ceiling or a balky image following me.

Do I ever hear things others don't? Yes, I think I do. But I suppose an audiologist could probably explain most of them. For example, I wear ear plugs to sleep -- and to block out my neighbor's stereo, like now -- and sometimes it sounds like it's raining, but when I take out my earplugs, the rain sound goes away. Or I think I hear the telephone ringing, but it seems to correspond exactly to when I clench my jaw.

As to other sorts of sounds, what one might call "auditory hallucination" or delusion (distortion of sound into speech, for example), I remember thinking that the sound my spoon made stirring my coffee was making words: "You're right, you're right, you're right." Then I read an article that explained this is actually a common phenomenon. When we hear repetitious sounds like that, or classically the clack of train wheels, we tend to make words out of them in our unconscious minds, just as a sort of imagination exercise. People frequently report that these sounds form into words, but they are inevitably words that "speak to" the issues on their mind at the time.

Wonder what my mind was up to in repeating "you're right" to me?

of course!! I hear them often!! It'sa natural thing! Some call it a gift, as I do! It's just that you are more perseptive in hearing somethings/ different things than others. Also, others could hear 'the same thing" but perseve it in a different way.

Yes, it is called Tinnitus, caused by playing music too loud and riding loud motorcycles (racing not on the road) and because I abused my hearing I am slowly going deaf.

Think about it before you crank up your stereo or change the exhaust on your car or motorcycle.

Yes....I hear music sometimes when I'm trying to sleep....it's very faint and mumbled, but it's bothersome. I also have hallucinations every time I'm in the hospital...people talking who aren't there.

I have a keen sense of hearing. I simply hear things before everyone else hears them.
