Jason, our Rotweiler, has always slept in his basket in our bedroom and when he was a puppy, my partner would put him and the basket on the landing while we made love. Now Jason is four and growls if we go near him at night so we make love downstairs on the sofa but I'm fed up being dictated to by a dog and want back my bedroom rights. What to do?

Dog problems, aggressive dog behaviour approaching. If he is growling now, he may be biting soon. If you are not going to do the obvious thing and learn how to handle your dog like a professional, then have him re-homed and make sure he goes to someone who knows all about him.
This dog is four, and he's controlling your sex life. I would guess from that information that you wouldn't exactly say you're a dog expert. If you aren't a dog expert, you really have no business owning a large dog like a Rottweiler. A large dog like that in the hands of dog fools is like a large gun in a child's hands. Seriously, it can be absolutely that dangerous.
Never go near a growling big dog unless you know exactly what you are doing. Either start from scratch and take him to professional training classes, where the trainers will train you, the human, in how to handle your dog properly, or have him re-homed somewhere safer before someone gets hurt.
And if you keep him, for goodness' sake make him sleep where dogs are supposed to sleep - outside, in a proper kennel which is not so big that he can't keep it warm with his own body heat.

I have a rottie too and they are bossy sometimes. Got a door? Just lock him out for awhile. When he growls at you you have to show him you are in charge. If I let Tank boss me around a little by a few days he thinks he runs the joint. They have to know who is the alpha or they think they are. Just show him. When he growls at you yell at him and remove him. Next time same thing. He'll get the hint.

You really have gotta watch that with something as big as a Rotti. You should probably have never made whats the word, concessions, for him and gone downstairs - he's probably aware of this and he's winning. Only you two know how much you can trust him. Think you betta call in that dog lady, whats her name?

By letting him sleep in your room as a puppy he now thinks that he owns that room and that it is his room. You need to teach him that this is not his room and that he should sleep down stairs. Start off by not letting him up stairs when you go to bed and see how that goes.

He thinks he's the leader of the "pack" you need to show him who is in charge and not let him get his way. Give him a treat when he does what you want him to do.
