Was this perhaps it?
2i. First Corinthians 13:1-7
If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give away all I have, and if I deliver my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; 5 it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable [touchy] or resentful; 6 it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. 7 Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

I think you're mixing a few of verses into one. Let's see if these are the ones you're thinking of:
"Do not owe anyone anything-except to love one another. For the one who loves another has fulfilled the law." (Romans 13:8)
"Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything to the glory of God." (I Corinthians 10:31)
"Love is always patient, Love is always kind, Love is never envious Or vaunted up with pride. Nor is she conceited, And never is she rude, Never does she think of self Or ever get annoyed. She never is resentful, Is never glad with sin, But always glad to side with truth, Whenever the truth should win. She bears up under everything, Believes the best in all, There is no limit to her hope, And never will she fall. Love never fails. (I Corinthians 13:4-8a)
Hope those help!
Ah! sparksalost has one I missed! Kudos!

Yes,
1 Corinthians 13:12-13
13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
I can not find the exact verse with the passage you are wirting about though.

I think you are referring to a passage of scripture known as the "love chapter". That would be 1 Cor 13. Verses 1-4 may be what you are remembering.

the verse occurs a couple of times
1Co 13:1-3
(1) Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become [as] sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
(2) And though I have [the gift of] prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
(3) And though I bestow all my goods to feed [the poor], and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
it would be worth your time to read the whole chapter

I'm not sure about the one you speak of but to go with that is: 1John4;7 Beloved, let us love one another for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. *8.He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
