Once in the program you take:

Dental Hygiene requires more education, a degree, the passing of state/national boards and make a lot more $$$$! Good career choice, but requires a lot of hard work and smarts : ).

That's the person who does the cleaning of the teeth that your sapossed to get every 6 months. I haven't done it but it doesn't appear to be very challenging. The training probably consists of learning the basics of dental studies and how to clean teeth. If that's your area of interest then go for it.

You will learn to clean teeth and administer local anethetic and nitrous, learn about dental health/disease, etc. It's generally challenging not unbearable though. If you can make it through the science classes that come before applying to hygiene school, you can handle it. The microbiology, anat/phys., chem. classes are all much harder.

Dear Baby Doll,
Have you ever gone to the dentist to have your teeth cleaned... Yep, that's what the dental hygienist does.

She looks in people's mouths and then she causes great pains.. After that she calls the dentist over to have a look see.

She also assists the dentist when he/she needs an assistant.

All in all, its not a bad way to make a living.
