You will know your dachshund is in heat because she will have discharge and her vulva will swell. This goes on 2-3 weeks. The dachshund will not allow a male to breed with her until she is ready. It is about 2 weeks into her heat. She should not breed with another dog however until she has had 3 heats.
It would be best for your sister to find a sire at least 1 year old and have them on standby. Dachshunds will come in heat about every 6 months following the first heat.

Please don't breed her. There are more than enough dachshund breeders out there that really know what they're doing and have true breeding quality dogs. I've read that fot a lot of dog breeds, only 10% of the breed's population are actually of breeding quality. Plus breeding and caring for a pregnant dog and her pups are a lot more expensive than you'd think. It's a HUGE commitment. It's not just something you do because your dog is cute and you want a bunch of cute puppies. But if you're truly serious about breeding, take your dog to the vet and make sure it's healthy enough. Your vet should be able to help you with the rest.

they ought to have had the registration papers attainable. Years in the past (the only time I ever offered a dogs from a puppy shop, earlier I knew approximately pup generators) i offered a purebreed Cocker Spaniel & they gave me the papers when I have been given the dogs -they confirmed who the breeder replaced into, the names of the dogs's parents, etc. Have some pals who offered a "Lhasa Apso" from a puppy shop & have been informed it replaced right into a purebreed yet not at all have been given the registration papers. The dogs grew to develop into lots greater advantageous than any Lhasa Apso i've got ever seen, nevertheless that's a cute dogs. They ended up negotiating a settlement & have been given an element to the fee back because of the fact they threatened to sue & the shop proprietor admitted that the dogs replaced right into a blended breed. Dachshunds do are available in numerous diverse colorations, so as that may no longer be indicative of no count number if the dogs is a purebreed or no longer. i could press them for the papers & attempt to artwork out a settlement in the event that they might't arise with them.

Leave it to the breeders. It takes a lot of experience and knowledge. U don't want to help create puppies that will have health issues or what if the mother rejects the puppies than u have to take care of them. Honestly it is a lot of work and I see it everyday with the breeders at my job so my best advice is find a breeder who will breed the dog and help u! Good Luck

you know when the dog is in heat, she will start spotting all over the floor. I'd take her to a breeder, who would probably breed the dog for free, as long as they can have one of the pups for free. That's what I did with my dog, although it didn't take.

The way to breed them is to put a male and female together and if the female is in heat, they will take care of the rest.

Tell her she doesn't breed them, that she gets them fixed. There are way too many homeless animals that are killed each day due to overpopulation. If she needs money, tell her to get a better job or something. Don't make others suffer for your greediness.
