I was in the same predicament and I applied clove oil to my tooth and the pain went away. You can get a good brand of clove oil in your local health food store. I hope your wife feels better.

I know you dont want to hear this, but there is nothing much you can do. Unless she gets seen by the dentist to do an extraction or rootcanal. One thing you can try is putting heat on it, that can sometimes make the infection drain. Thats not true in everycase though. If she cant wait to be seen gy a dentist, go to the E.R. they can give you something there. When your having a normal pregnacy, they most of the time can give you tylenol 3. It has codeine in it. I also seen alot of people mention clove oil or tea tree oil. this does help, but not effectivly unless placed inside the tooth. Plus you have to get it from a pharmacy.

The grocery stores or gas stations sale a brand called Red Cross. It works great and also excedrin migraine works wonders on a toothache. Sometimes putting a heating pad on the side of the face helps some too. I have bad tooth problems(extremely bad) and also pregnant and this is what my ob/gyn told me to do.

she definetely needs to be seen it might be some kind of infection that she needs antibiotics for. Does her OBGYN know that she is in a lot of pain?? Most doctors even if they say they have no appointments will let you in if it is an emergency. If she can't get in and it gets worse take her to the emergency room. I'm not sure which drugs are allowed in pregnancy but get your wife something with benzocaine in it. I'm not sure if oragel has it in it. Your best bet right now would be to go to the drug store and ask the pharmacist. They are very knowledgeable about what she be allowed. Ask them for a recommendation and ask them about benzocaine.

Maybe try a heating pad to place on the cheek that has the tooth ache. Lay down on a pillow with the pad. Keep trying tylenol, although I believe you can take advil or ibuprofen up until 28 weeks. Keep trying to be seen by the obgyn so your wife can get released, and then keep calling the dentist. Good luck!!

Your wife is better ask for help to another obgyn in order to have a second opinion. She must tell its curing in detail to the second doctor that she is pregnant and has a tooth ache and what kind of medicine which has been given by the first doctor .A pregnant woman usually needs more lime or calcareous than non pregnant woman. It is caused by the need of developing baby for bones in her womb..She should explain to the second obgyn that she would consult to a dentist and tell him/her that tylenol and oragel medicines did not work..For temporary and emergency condition, before she gets. another medicines, she can mouth wash or gagle with sirih liquid or with saliferous warm water or salted warm water.

ever see "Marathon Man"? Oil of Cloves works really good and it's inexpensive, like $2, i think. you can find it in the baby aisle or ask the pharmacist, or if you're close to a place that sells candymaking supplies they might have it as well. Peppermint oil kind of works, too, but Oil of Cloves (NOT cloves used in baking) daubed on a bit of cotton or Qtip should help a lot

she doesn't NEED any release to go see a dentist that's false. The problem is with x-rays, as long as she doesn't get a full mouth series of x-rays she'll be ok. She can have on x-ray for the tooth with an extra lead apron on her belly. Congratulations on your baby and good luck with the toothache.

Clove oil will deaden the nerves and make the tootheache bearable until she can get to the dentist. A strong taste but not unpleasant. Can usually buy this in any grocery store in the baking or spice section. Good luck.
