What is the mark of the beast from REVELATIONS?

Just had a friend ask me what I thought the mark of the beast was........GREAT QUESTION.Have always been told of 666......true or not?

To really understand the Mark of the Beast; you need to pray first for God's wisdom(James 1:5) before you look up these texts. Alot of people don't understand because they don't pray for God's Wisdom.

Rev.13:18 "Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six."
It tells you exactly who the beast is: from the clues in the Bible.

(REV.13:18) on the Pope's Crown (tiara) are these letters: VICARIUS FILII DEI; what do they signify?

MARK OF THE BEAST

To understand the Mark of the beast--you have to read all these scriptures.

First of all; we have to know the opposite of it.
The Seal of God is in the 4th Commandment in Exodus 20:8-11; references are John 4:22-24 and Rev.14:7.
Sabbath in Encyclopaedia Americana, Vol.24, pp.68-69.
The Sabbath Day is Saturday.
Look it up in dictionaries, encyclopedias and etc.

But anyway a SEAL contains 3 things.
1. HIS NAME,
2. HIS OFFICIAL POSITION, TITLE OR AUTHORITY
3. THE EXTENT OF HIS DOMINION AND JURISDICTION

Now the SEAL in the 4th Commandment is
1. THE LORD
2. MADE {office,creator}
3. HEAVEN AND EARTH {dominion}

If we know the SEAL is the 7th day sabbath Saturday (EXOD.20:8-11); then rejecting it would be the MARK.

REV.7:2-3 "AND I SAW ANOTHER ANGEL ASCENDING FROM THE EAST, HAVING THE SEAL OF THE LIVING GOD: AND HE CRIED WITH A LOUD VOICE TO THE FOUR ANGELS, TO WHOM IT WAS GIVEN TO HURT THE EARTH AND THE SEA,

SO IF YOU KEEP SATURDAY HOLY(JN.4:22-24) AND FOLLOW JESUS CHRIST FAITH; YOU WILL HAVE THE(REV.14:12) "SEAL OF GOD".

Most people have followed the church; look what Rev.13:1 says "...and all the world wondered after the beast." What does this mean; will if you seen every domination---they follow the Catholic's teachings which are false(Dan.8:12). This is the image of the Beast. This is what God tells his people that are in 1st Babylon and 2nd Babylon in Rev.18:4 "...Come out of her my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye not receive her plagues."

The Mark of the beast is 666! To accept the beast's mark is to not accept God's Holy Sabbath Day Saturday as Working on the Sabbath.(reference Deut.6:8)

ACTUALLY THE MARK OF THE BEAST IS WHAT PEOPLE DON'T UNDERSTAND! IT'S VERY SIMPLE REALLY; YOU HAVE TO DO THE OPPOSITE OF IT.
THE OPPOSITE OF THE MARK IS THE "SEAL OF GOD" WHICH IS IN THE 4TH COMMANDMENT(EXOD.20:8-11; REV.14:7). BUT IF YOU DON'T KEEP HIS DAY(MARK) AND FOLLOW THE CATHOLIC CHURCH(IMAGE); HE WILL GIVE YOU THIS(REV.14:9-11).

Rev.13:16 "And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive the mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads."

TO BE SUCH MEANS "AND THE BEAST WAS TAKEN, AND WITH HIM THE FALSE PROPHET THAT WROUGHT MIRACLES BEFORE HIM, WITH WHICH HE DECEIVED THEM THAT HAD RECEIVED THE MARK OF THE BEAST, AND THEM THAT WORSHIPPED HIS IMAGE. THESE BOTH WERE CAST ALIVE INTO A LAKE OF FIRE BURNING WITH BRIMSTONE."--REV.19:20

THE SYSTEM IS MADE UP OF:

TRUE CHRISTIANITY VS. FALSE CHRISTIANITY
FOLLOWING JESUS(COL.2:6) OR NOT FOLLOWING JESUS(PHIL.2:21).

666 is actually the number of his name.

Rev 13:17 so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name.
Rev 13:18 This calls for wisdom: let the one who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and his number is 666.

Man's number is 6. If man was perfect, man's number would be 7. See how it works?

As imperfect as man is, the image of the beast is even more imperfect. Yet people look to it for peace and security.

Anyway, to wind it up, the beast was the League of Nations, and the image of the beast is the United Nations. A very imperfect entity, yet people look to it instead of the Kingdom of God, for peace.

The mark of the beast is what you think of the beast or what you do for the beast.

666 is very true and will happen. there will be a mark placed in the right hand or forehead the sign of the devil(the mark of the beast). The mark of the beast is supposed to be 666 but what form it will take causes many people a lot of consternation. Whether it will be a chip under the skin of the hand or forehead--some think it may be something like a global positioning devise....it will be used to take money out of your checking account---like a debit card. People won't be allowed to transact business unless they have one of the marks---on their hand or forehead. Scares me when I go to the grocery store these days and I see how common it is fo people to just hand their debit cards over. *sigh* Want to start a really wild free for all? Just pick one of the ideas as the BE ALL END ALL---and you will have people coming out of the woodwork with other ideas. :-) Thanks for asking a thought provoking question.

666 is symbolic the beast is a demonic government
One that would destroy religion and demand that others do so.
the mark in the hand and head is symbolic also.
the forhead is mentally your support that organization'
to give soneone a hand is to help them. Support the cause.
The wild beast has yet to raise its ugly head but soon the governments will turn on all religion. Rev 16 says so
Then we will be tested.

It appears that 666 might not be a number. Instead, it appears to Arabic script written amongst the Greek writing. The meaning of the script is "In the Name of Allah." First America is destroyed, and Europe rises to lead the world. Then Europe is destroyed after a short time, and an Islamic leader rises to lead the world. He eventually institutes the mark. some say that but I highly doubt it, some think its a mark on the hand that will be needed to buy and sell goods (a comp. chip under the skin) I doubt anyone has figured it out. It can't be that easy, the devil is much more maliciously clever than we give him credit for a times. He was only second to God in greatness and I assume intellect. He'd make the perfect negative stereotype of the crooked used car salesman.
