Well, she clearly was not very healthy. Sometimes illnesses like FIP can cause the pet to become sick and die VERY quickly!! FeLV can cause a similar thing too.

If a male cat has a urinary blockage he can die within 48 hours. Females too of course and it is not that frequent with the females.

When I worked for a vet a cat was brought in with a burst bladder. He was around 11 years old and an outdoor cat. Since he didn't have a litterbox no one had noticed that he had not peed for several days. The cat did not make it and the owners were devastated.

Some cats have sudden heart attacks and check out.

Since you mentioned the bloating if was probably the blockage.

obviously wasn't healthy. If his abdo was bloated, it sounds like FIP. FIP is sort of a mystery. There is no cure and once contracted is fatal. Without a titer from the lab (and even if you had one) it is really hard to accurately diagnose it. Talk to your vet especially if you have other cats

Healthy cats don't just "bloat" and die. He obviously had a problem that was undiagnosed

he was probably sick but hiding it from you. My vet said cats have a since of doing that unlike dogs where they just up and show it.

Cause he wasn't as healthy as you thought?? You say he was blaoted, probably ate something. was he an outdoor cat? Coulda been something poisonous.
